We found this place by chance, coming to town last minute. Perfect location, and a perfectly wonderful place to stay in every way. We travel quite a bit, and can honestly say that this may be the best stay we've ever had anywhere! Chris and Liesel are down to earth, hard working people that are trying to preserve history and... This place is truly amazing! We visited Harpers Ferry during the peak fall season and it was absolutely gorgeous. The Stonehouse has laid-back charm & we will definitely stay here again on our next trip. We stayed in the New Room and it was spacious with a huge bath (this is a newer addition, so it's much more modern than... More

Stayed in "New Room" which is still under construction. This room faces the railroad, so you will hear the passing trains, but the noise didn't bother us. The balcony off this room offers a beautiful view of Maryland Heights. Chris is a super "chill" host who loves to talk local politics and makes a superb berry and yogurt-filled pancake stack... This is a decent, though not "upper end" B & B. The charm is that it is in the center of the historic area of Harper's Ferry, and easy walking distance to everything! Very clean. Some unfinished construction underway, but nothing objectionable. No TV. The building is an actual Civil War Era building! Owners live on site and are very... More

Super convenient location. Close to all HF fun. The room was comfortable. The owners are super nice. Great coffee and breakfasts! Across from train station, so lots of train whistles. We loved it! Plan your dinners, as the lower town restaurants by the B&B close early. Would love to go back again one day!

We stayed in the new room, it's not completely finished being renovated but that didn't bother us. The exposed stone wall is beautiful! The balcony was great to enjoy the town in the evening since almost everything in town closes very early, it was nice to have a view to relax. There were no chairs on the balcony so we... More

Stonehouse is a neat historic house located in downtown. The real plus is the fact that it has off-street parking. The couple/owners have a love work-in-progress. They radiate their desire of having a great B&B. I have discounted the rating only because of the work that needs to be done.

We just returned from a two night stay at the Stonehouse B&B. The top floor was perfect for our stay, with the AC a much needed amenity after a day hiking around town. The common area back porch also provided some tranquility after a long day. Chris's breakfasts were fantastic, with the conversation an added bonus. Great location and close... More

We were researching my great great grandfathers activity during Civil War. Wanted to stay close into the town. All the pictures can not do it justice. Communicated with Chris re arrival time and when I raised my hand to knock, he appeared! We stayed in the ' new' room, just completed with a huge balcony overlooking the train station (... More

It was our 10-year anniversary this last Thursday. And we just wanted a little stay-cation. So Harper's Ferry fit the bill. I know "Paris is always a good idea" but honestly, Harper's Ferry is more relaxing! Got in a little late, but we were greeted with "my mom's blueberry and granola griddles cakes and a lump of sausage"...or at least... More
