Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have stayed a few times at Bowen Motel in recent treks (off season) to Moab and appreciate the dependably clean rooms, comfortable features (mini frig, microwave, and self controlled fan/a/c/heat
unit with constant fan option), and best value when booked on Motel's website. Management and staff really CARE about guest comfort and positive experiences. For example, while this property is located on well traveled Main St/Hwy 191 through Moab and can be noisy at times, a small packet of ear plugs are provided in each room free of charge for guests.

We had 6 adults stay in the family room, and we were satisfied. Three big beds were enough space for us, and I like that the sleeping area was separated (slightly) from the rest of the room.

The room included a table/dining area as well as a mini-fridge. Only one bathroom, but the sink was outside (toilet/shower were in a private stall) so that multiple people could get ready at a time with no problem.

The room we stayed in was not handicap accessible -- it had stairs up to the door. This wasn't a problem for us, but just an FYI.

Oh, and the AC WORKS! We were freezing at one point!

Would definitely recommend if you're in need of a place to stay on your way to Arches. Gas stations and restaurants are nearby too!

This was a last-minute reservation and after trying to call to hopefully reserve a better rate than Hotwire or other sites, we settled on their best deal which was directly through their hotel website. This was painless, as was the check in process: quick scan of your ID, forms ready to sign and a paper with all the relevant information including your keys.

We got a King room, which included comfy reclining chairs, a very large TV, fridge, ice machine, large bathroom with a high pressure shower, and strong AC. It was a very spacious room and I could see fitting at least 3 more folks in there, given a pull away bed or even just some sleeping bags.

The only downside was the internet. It was usable, but very slow.

We booked this hotel last minute because it was near the entrance to Arches National Park. I honestly didn't expect much but it was one of the nicest places we stayed during our entire cross country trip. The room was very nice and they thought of everything - even a place to clean the red dust off your car and washcloths to use for that purpose. Highly recommended!

I chose Bowen motel because of the great reviews it received. My experience was however average. The worst was the noise level. It is at the main street in Moab and the walls are not keeping the traffic out. The AC, which you definitely need in the summer in Utah is not making it any better. Loud as hell. Bowen motel does acknowledge that though once you are in the room and provides complimentary earplugs. In general it was as clean as you can keep a motel room. It is a bit worn down and the carpet probably would not mind replacement, but the cleaning staff did a great job given the circumstance.
Because the noise was really bothering me, I was attempting to cut my stay short after the first night. On that regard the front desk staff was not very forthcoming. They offered no understanding or options for the situation. I was also told that the manager would not be available during my stay, not even by phone. After contacting my travel agent who subsequently also tried to reach out, I was told that Bowen Motel was not even willing to negotiate for partial refund, they insist on me paying the full price for three nights, even if I had to leave early, as this was the motel's policy.
In summary, I will personally definitely never return to the Bowen Motel. But if nothing else is available, it at least has comfortable beds, is acceptably clean, has a pool, and is easy to reach with comfortable parking.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. We always appreciate hearing from our guests! The positive feedback tells us what we are doing right and the less than positive experiences help us to improve. We apologize for the noise from Main Street, it can be hard if you’re a light sleeper, as you noticed the earplugs provided are exactly for this purpose. We keep our AC units up to date and have the quietest units we can purchase, the only way to have the noise be at almost zero is to provide a central air unit, our motel is not set up for this. The units in our rooms are what you find in many hotels and it is impossible to have the noise cancelled out. Thank you for the note on the carpet, we will double check to see if any of them need to be cleaned. Our carpet is only a couple years old and we do clean them on a consistent schedule. I apologize for your experience trying to get out of your reservation early. Without your personal details I am unable to pull up the specifics. If you reserved using our prepaid special, this would be non-refundable and does not allow for early exit or cancellations. As for a manager not being available, that is not the case, we are available each an every day. Our crew communicates with us in person and by phone every shift. We are always happy to work with our guests if they are not enjoying their stay. Again, without your specific reservation details this is all of the feedback I am able to offer. I hope you have a wonderful summer and your future travels are great.

I'm always a little nervous staying at independent motels and such but I was not let down by the reviews. Everything was good. There was an issue with the bathroom door but we worked around it. Room was very large (lots of space between beds and TV and well as almost a small room next to the bathroom). If you had bikes and such you could easily bring in 2 (probably 4) without any problem. The beds and everything appeared clean. And really, when I'm spending one night I really just want clean, comfortable and safe. This hit on those. The in room refrigerator was larger than normal hotels. We did not use the pool or really any other parts of the motel but they had areas for cleaning bikes and such and included cleaning rags in the room (to stop inconsiderate people from destroying their towels.)

We were trying to find a comfortable alternative to the overpriced chains in Moab. We struck gold with the Bowen! Easy check in, great location, clean rooms were just a few of the highlights of this establishment. We really appreciated the small hand towels in the bucket for dirty/dusty shoes - this was the only hotel that offered such thing in our week long trip through southern Utah. We will definitely return to The Bowen when we are back in Moab!

It doesn't look fancy, but it has everything you need. The bed is comfy. The shower has good water pressure and you can't hear the noise from the main drag. A great place to rest before or after your outdoor adventures.

Clean and well taken care of, well situated with restaurants near by within walking distance. It is situated on Mainstreet and the walls are thin, but they placed ear plugs in the room in case you are a light sleeper. They also provide a small bucket with towels and an area to clean your bike. Nice place to stay while staying in Moab.

Bowen Motel is located in the heart of Moab. Many of the restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. The rooms are a nice size with comfortable recliners for watching TV. Great shower with excellent water pressure. Rooms are very clean. Staff is friendly and offers suggestions of other places to visit in the area such as the Cowboy Film Museum at Red Cliffs Lodge. There is an area for washing your motorbike, mountain bike or off road vehicle with towels provided just for washing.
One review I read prior to booking our stay was the road noise. What do you expect? You are on the main road! Ear plugs are provided by the motel. I am a light sleeper and I used the ear plugs. I heard nothing.
