The inn is located in a quiet part of Asheville where you don't even realize you are in the city. Happy hour at 5pm with amazing appetizers and an even more amazing breakfast in the morning. We had a room on the street side that had a little traffic noise but not enough to be annoying. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights as a getaway from the family. I wanted to spend Christmas with a real Christmas atmosphere and the owners of this delightful inn made it happen! We stayed at the honeymoon room with a beautiful king bed, a fireplace and a Jacuzzi which we used twice. It was very romantic. Every...

My daughter and I were privileged to stay at this delightful inn on the long drive back from college for her winter break. I have visited various B&Bs over the years, and I can honestly say this one takes the #1 prize! The setting is gorgeous (complete with pond filled with koi-albeit hibernating ones), and the home is immaculate and...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights as a getaway babymoon. We stayed in the adorably quirky Dogwood room, which is in a turret and has three sections: a cute little alcove sitting room, the bathroom with a claw foot tub and the bedroom with a painted sky in the turret. It was very charming! The inn staff:...

My wife and I came to Asheville for a Honeymoon getaway, and the Black Walnut was by far the highlight of our stay. The place is immaculately clean, the beds were an absolute delight to sleep on, and the tub / fireplace combo in the Ivy Room is the stuff dreams are made of! I also can't stress this part...

We stayed four straight nights on our only visit to Asheville. The husband and wife owners are nice people and still anxious to please after 13 years in operation. Rooms are large and comfortable and the antique furniture matches the age of the gracious old mansion. Breakfasts are excellent and the afternoon wine and snack session not to be missed....

As our third bed and breakfast, we feel we did well at Black Walnut. This place is exactly what wife and I want in a B & B: old historic house, antique furnishings, great hosts, good food.....it is all here. This place is just a few blocks from downtown Asheville. There is quite a history to the place and surrounding...

For my wife & I this was our 2nd visit to Asheville. In 2013 we actually stayed at the Lion & The Rose, the B&B next door to the Black Walnut. The inn is simply beautiful. We stayed in the Ivy Garden Room on the 1st floor. Very nice & romantic. The only downsides are (1) window air unit so...

Upon arrival I realized I had made a booking error. Beth, one of the wonderful staff, assured me they could accommodate us. We were relieved and spent 3 fabulous days with Pete and Lori. The breakfast as others said is a do-not-miss part of the experience. The rooms were great and comfortable. We walked to town for the many dinner...
