Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here on a trip to visit family in late January. The inn is nice and the setting is beautiful. The beds and pillows are lumpy and quite uncomfortable. Additionally, I had a concerning experience with the staff. I asked the front desk to help reserve a taxi to the airport for the following morning. The staff person who assisted me said that the taxi company required a credit card to complete the reservation, and I gave her the information. The next morning, the taxi did not arrive when scheduled. Upon inquiry, the taxi company reported that they had the pickup time incorrect and no credit card information for me. I tried to reach the hotel manager on multiple occasions to discuss, but they could not be reached by phone or email, and did not return communications.

I am a long time supporter of Biltmore, starting in June, 1972. I've been there to see all of the original decor, gift shops added, dairy barn converted into the winery, and was one of the first to stay at the hotel in 2001. I've always thought of the place as being 4 star. After my stay this week we encountered many changes. Cleanliness, customer service, pillows, lighting , all in need of improvement. Hammer and saws starting at 7:00 am. I can't say they deserve a 4 star rating at this time. I hope they can reclaim it in the future. I will say the evening meal in the Restaurant was 5 star with a 5 star server. Our room service breakfast was 5 star. The Library Lounge we had a good server until shifts changed and then we had to stop a server to get service. Everything closed very early or wasn't open at all (tours, grounds restaurants) . Check on what is available, and if construction is going on before your trip. Will I go back again? It will depend on management restoring services and facilities back to gaining a 5 star rating.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at The Biltmore Inn. As a long-time patron of your establishment, I have always held your hotel in high regard, but unfortunately, my most recent experience fell far short of my expectations. Upon arrival, my family and I were dismayed to discover that despite our request for a room close to the elevator due to my mom being handicap, we were asssigned a room further from it. However, after 20 minutes on the phone with your front desk staff, they were able to move us. This was inconvenient, but what made matters worse was the ongoing construction, which subjected us to disruptive noise from drills and saws as early as 7:00 in the morning. This unexpected disturbance significantly detracted from our ability to enjoy our stay. Furthermore, the service in the lounge was exceptionally poor. Despite our attempts to seek assistance from the servers, we were met with complacency and had to practically beg for attention. This lack of attentiveness was both frustrating and disheartening, especially considering the reputation of your establishment. In addition to the service issues, the cleanliness of our room left much to be desired. The top spreads on our bed were wrinkled, the beds were not turned down as they usually are, and to our dismay, we discovered black hairs on my mother's pillow. This lack of attention to detail is simply unacceptable for a hotel of your caliber. Moreover, amenities that were typically provided without fail, such as a refilled ice bucket and a well-lit entryway, were noticeably absent during our stay. The burnt-out light over our door not only left the entry dim and dreary but also posed a safety concern. As someone who has been a loyal guest of The Biltmore for many years, it pains me to say that I will not be returning. The decline in customer service and overall quality has led me to believe that the hotel has lost touch with its commitment to excellence. I urge you to take my feedback seriously and address the issues I have raised. It is my hope that you will take proactive steps to improve your standards of service and cleanliness to ensure that future guests do not have to endure similar experiences.

My trip was actually in Oct./22 but I am a bit late in my review. We stopped at the hotel on our drive down to Florida and we had a lot of luggage. To begin with there was snafu with our reservation and they only had us down for 1 night instead of 2.They were going to make us move for the second night which would have been a tremendous undertaking as we were already settled in the room.Eventually that was taken care of but not until we really had to plead the case. The cost to stay in this hotel was about $800 a night. But that did include brunch and entrance to the mansion and the general tour.Additional tours of the mansion cost extra. I was shocked at how small and cramped the room was. It had no refrigerator which I needed for medication. They did bring a small one up but at an additional charge.. the room was well appointed but again, really small. The public areas and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant was excellent and the brunch was also excellent. The main issue I had was the cost and the size of the room. It was rather insulting .

I am shocked at the negative reviews. I am pretty discerning about hotels, and this was a lovely experience. We went and had the Enchanted Christmas Package. Yes, it was pricy, but it was a lovely holiday celebration with family. The hotel and grounds were so festive! It was like a Christmas wonderland. The staff was all very accommodating and professional. Our suite was incredible, and I have no complaints about it. It had a nice view of the mountains, and we could view the sunrises. There are well-groomed and well-marked trails around the property that I highly recommend. I would have been exploring them daily had it not rained so much. The food is ok, not great, but not horrible. We eat healthy, and there are not many healthy options available. Heads up! Your Google or Apple maps do not work on the property! There could be better signage. We had reservations at the Stable Cafe and never made it. There were no signs, and we had no idea it was on the Biltmore House property. Overall, it was a fabulous holiday vacation. I look forward to returning in the spring to explore the area. There is so much to see.

Staff writer as great and very responsive but the rooms are in dire need of updating. Thermostat on AC/heat is either on or off so either freezing or hot. Water temp in shower is inconsistent keeps going from hot to cold and takes forever to get warm. Safe got jammed up and even security person stated they were in of and unreliable. We were given an adjoining room, family in connecting room had small infant up against connecting door them at woke us several times per night.

Excellent stay. Wonderful service. Clean, beautiful room, and the view of Antler Village especially at night with the Holiday lights was just gorgeous. Housekeeping could up their game a bit however. If I didn't leave a note for extra towels, never had enough. Need to switch to full bath towels as well as the ones they have are too small. Shower door leaked water everywhere. We had to shove towels to grab the water before it could expand. Literally winging wet. I did not like that Housekeeping moved my toiletries. I am allergic to fragrance and don't want others to touch my stuff. I didn't think I had to put a note to that effect but apparently I did. Kleenex box only had a few tissues left in box when we checked in--need to check that. Once I asked for more, they gave me two boxes. One day, we couldn't remember if we had taken off the do not disturb sign so called about 11am to let them to go ahead and clean the room. We came back at 4pm and they were just cleaning it. After being gone and sweaty from hiking, really could have used a shower right away. Complimentary bottled water and as much as you need, once again, if you left a note or called. Biggest complaint is that the water is much too soft. I could not get soap off me and ended up getting an infection because of it. Probably not much you can do about that but still. Breakfast in dining room is expensive but absolutely wonderful (ala cart). Had drinks and small plates in Library three times. Once again, very pricey but good. The mushroom flatbread is fantastic. Surprised no egg nog drinks for the holidays. Concierge was fun and informative. Front desk was professional but friendly. Had a spectacular stay.

This is a lovely hotel that is everything one would expect in a 4 star hotel. Beautifully decorated, expansive mountain views, an excellent restaurant, comfortable luxurious guest rooms and shuttle service make this hotel exceptional. I would highly recommend. I have stayed there several times and will stay there again!
