The location of the hotel is ideal for those looking to explore the Faneuil Hall area. Close proximity to shopping and great restaurants. The historical background and cleanliness of the Ames Hotel is an added plus.

Looking for a modern stylish hotel in a great location in Boston? I highly recommend the Ames. The friendly staff greeted me in the cozy lobby and made sure all my requests were honored. My room had great views of Boston and lots of natural light. The bed was really comfortable with luxury linens. Fabulous shower and great Moulton Brown...

Definitely convenient and within walking distance of attractions and good restaurants. Our room was very good and staff helpful...unfortunately we were trapped there during storm Stella...and there was no working kitchen or hot food available. So all day without food until we could get out in the evening.

I stay at lots of Hilton brand hotels throughout the year. The staff here is some of the best I have had the pleasure to deal with. I was at a Ritz Carlton in Virginia last month and I will tell you that the Ames staff is much more friendly and attentive. For a city hotel, it was not noisy...

I travel a lot across the US for business, and this has been my favourite hotel this year - a place I would return to without hesitation. I tend to look for hotels in great locations with a bit of charm and "something different" about them. The rooms at the Ames are beautiful - high-ceilinged and stylish while still maintaining...

I stayed here just to sleep and I believe it was the heating system was the cause of the noise and humming vibrations. Didn't sleep a wink I even switched rooms. Wouldn't stay again for free. Cost me over 300 for a sleepless night

The Ames Hotel is an old building converted to ‘boutique’ hotel rooms, part of the Hilton Corporation. The staff is uniformly welcoming and professional. While conveniently located on the Freedom Trail, with the Old State House across the street and Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market around the corner, the accommodations really don’t suit a tourist, especially those travelling as family. Near the...

We appreciate your business while traveling in Boston Roadtripper1951. Thank you for staying with us. While we are glad to hear that you enjoyed our central location, it was disappointing to hear that you didn't find value in your stay. Stayed one night and wanted a convenient hotel near Faneuil Hall and walking distance to North End. The hotel was fine but for a Curio Collection I was expecting more. Room was really small with a Queen bed that frankly wasn't all that comfortable. Staff was really nice...from Valet to David the Concierge. It's definitely close to Faneuil so if...

I tend to seek out older classic building hotels that have been renovated over the brand new properties when I business travel. I had a very nice double queen room on the 12th floor over looking the old City Hall. the most impressive part of this room was the bathroom fixtures...they were German made from the toilet with the in...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
