We love small properties, this was no exception. Staff remembered our name, made us feel at home. It was a joy.

We stayed at the Charlesmark, Nov 10 - Nov 14, for 4 nights. We arrived at the hotel at 10:00 am from our flight, too early to check in. We were traveling with another couple,so we asked to have rooms close together on the top floor, after reading other reviews about street noise. We left our luggage and headed out...

29th - 31st October 2006 Trip adviser reader, Surrey,UK The reception was unwelcoming and the room was very noisy. Night porter denied there was a problem, but next day Manager admitted there is a compressor. We moved rooms which was a little better. Rooms were lovely and modern. Position is great and right in the centre near the shops and...

After taking a tour of the Charlesmark last June, we decided to have the members of our wedding party stay there. We couldn't reserve a block of rooms because of the hotel size, so, we just had everyone call. Last June we had a great guy who offered to walk us around, show us rooms, etc. He sold us. Then...

We spent 1 night at the Charlesmark in November after spending the previous week in New York. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and size of our room at the front of the hotel, its location and the friendliness of the reception staff. The room was immaculately clean and was very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The bathroom was...

Rooms are modern, Stereos with surround sound speakers, DVD/CD Players and free movie library, free bottled water every day, free wireless internet , free breakfast. Such a deal! The hotel is beatifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The service provided by the staff was first class and genuine. The hotel has 40 rooms so the staff really get to know you....

The Charlesmark Hotel was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area (it's in the Back Bay area -- great location). It's in the center of everything -- across the street from the Boston Library, close to the Fairmont Copley Hotel, the subway system, Boston Common, Prudential shopping center and many areas to eat. The rooms were small, but...

Myself my wife and my son stayed there late september and had a wonderful visit. The staff were pleasant and check in was quick. We requested a crib for my son and as they didn't have any available, so the hotel went out and bought a brand new one. The room wasn't the biggest but the location was as centre...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
