Visited HI Boston twice now - a really top-notch hostel. Made the rest of our budget trip feel especially so! Only thing is you have to have a weird induction from the reception staff, even if you've spent your entire time staying in HIs... Anyway, building is modern, rooms are smart with individual plugs, safes, lights and shelves on each...

I like its bedroom design the best: i lived in an innermost bed, and we each have our small closets and lights, so we can avoid disturbing others while having our own lights on. Beds, sheets and towels were clean and of decent quality among hostels. Such details made me feel amazing! And it's public area is also among the...

We stayed here for 3 days and the place was excellent. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a private room that was quite large, clean and very comfortable. We had our own private ensuite that also had a hair dryer. Breakfast was good with bagels, cereal, juice, tea, coffee etc. The location is great and...

I have found that traveling by hostel is an easy way to make a trip a whole lot less expensive. That is, if you are to sleep in bunk beds in a room with maybe 3 or 7 other room mates! And I certainly am, even at the ripe age of 62. I've never had an uncomfortable or regrettable experience...

Your experience is going to depend heavily on who you end up getting for roommates. Sometimes they'll be rude. Others will be interesting. You're rolling the dice. As for the hostel itself, it's among the nicer hostels you'll find. Modern, clean, basic.

Look Here is the thing. If you are booking a hostel instead of a hotel then you should already know you are giving up something things and gaining others. Yes it might be a little louder in the rooms, yes you are sharing a room with a stranger (who may or may not turn lights on, be loud or quiet,...

I really liked the interior and the whole setup of the hostel. The shared kitchen and relax areas were great and very cosy! The provided breakfast was also very nice. The bathrooms were, overall, fairly clean and it is a big plus that towels and sheets are provided. For me the locker in the room was too small though, my...

My mum and I stayed in a four bed female dorm on the fourth floor. The room was spotless. Eash bed had four power outlets and its own light. The showers and toilets were spotless. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday. On the Saturday there was free beer, wine, pizza and nibbles from 7pm to 9pm. This was a...

Good side: very affordable, clean and good location (200m from the subway station) Bad side: -FORGET about sleeping. It's the noisiest place I've ever stayed in. The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING (even the drunk guys throwing up in the bathroom outside, next to your room). Three bathrooms surround each room. Idk what's wrong with the...

I arrived at 11/12 at night, and had to wait around an hour in the reception area to check in. There was only one person at the reception checking people in as well as dealing with peoples queries, which is quite along time to wait. They were nice enough to waive my HI fee, but I would've rather have paid...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
