The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.

Owning a restaurant is challenging and exhausting. As chef/owner I make time for my partner (business and life) to rejuvenate when possible. With Boston a train ride away from us and the Intercontinental being a quick walk from South Station, we decided a few years ago to become

We continually seek opportunities to heighten the guest experience, which is greatly assisted by direct guest feedback such as yours. You have mentioned some standard points that will be retrained with our team to ensure consistency of service going forward. The quality of food you experience will also be addressed promptly as this is not to the standard we strive to achieve. I greatly apologize for the inconveniences you experienced and am certain you will have an entirely positive experience the next time you visit with us. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay! We look forward to welcoming you back. Warmest Regards, Lisa Ares Executive Assistant Manager

I did grab a bite to eat in the restaurant late Saturday and got a salad - there was so much salt on it I couldn't eat it. The bartender took it off my bill. Everything else was great. I would recommend this hotel to other people.

Dear Jodi R, I’m delighted you enjoyed the InterContinental experience! We are one of the few all-encompassed escapes in Boston where the only need to venture out is if you desire to explore the enclaves of the city. With so much to see and do you are sure to return to experience it all! I hope you will accept my sincere apologies regarding the condition of your salad. You can rest assured your comments have been shared with the restaurant team so this does not happen again. Thank you for your kind recommendation! We hope you will visit with us again soon. Warmest Regards, Lisa Ares Executive Assistant Manager

This whole place is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are to die for and a delightful rum bar rounds it all off! The Club Intercontinental lounge is very pleasant for two hours of drinks and snacks in the evening and a varied breakfast each morning. Great location.

Is there free wifi in the rooms?
If you have an IHG membership then you get free low-speed wifi. If you are staying at IHG hotels and you haven't yet signed up for IHG membership, then you are missing out! It's free and there is at least some value to the points, especially if you stay frequently at IHG hotels.

Dear kaz017, What a wonderful question! You will definitely be able to get an Uber at 4am to get to Mass. General Hospital. The wait could be a bit longer than expected, but Uber will be available. You could also schedule an Uber pickup using the new feature in the app to be sure your request is arranged in advance. If you're interested, our front desk is happy to assist with arranging a taxi cab or driver with our elite transportation service contact on the morning of the surgery. Or, if using your personal vehicle is more comfortable for you and your husband, the Valet is available 24 hours a day and ICON parking honors in and out privileges. InterContinental Boston understands the importance of having a variety of options to best suit guest needs, so I hope there is enough information to help you decide. Please don't hesitate to call should you have any further inquiries. We look forward to welcoming you and helping to create a comfortable and homey environment for a speedy recovery. Best Wishes, Lisa Ares Executive Assistant Manager
