I stayed at the Taj with a friend so I could march in the Boston Woman's Parade. Initially I chose this hotel because of it's perfect location... right across from the public Gardens and on the corner of Newbury street. The hotel is really nice. The decor is pretty, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean...

The hotel is attractive, warm, and welcoming. Staff are helpful and attentive. My room was lovely: very comfortable bed, clean bathroom with everything I needed, and when I returned in the evening my bed was turned down, there was a bathrobe hanging in the bathrooom, and slippers by my bed. I stayed in January and the rates were very reasonable....

Excellent hotel and service. One of the many reasons we come to the Taj when we come to Boston. We always try to stay heer due to the location with the various shops and restaurants available near the hotel.

This was our second visit to the Taj. I opted for a grander room overlooking the park. Arlington is a bit busier than Newbury (other street room look onto). For the higher price, I don't think I would bother with the more expensive room. My chief complaint was a complete lack of hot water. Yes, it was early (5AM) when...

We loved our two night stay here - I had asked for a quiet suite and we were hidden on the 12th floor in a corner room that was huge and very quiet! We needed to sleep and we did that easily. Great location and we walked at least six miles a day to get to museums etc but of...

The property is lovely, the housekeeping is flawless, and the service is truly extra-ordinary. And don't miss some of the best Indian food you'll ever eat - even through room service. Every detail is attended to, without ever feeling like people are hovering. Use the valet to check your bags and then move your car to the Common for less...

Classic Boston, enjoyed everything about the hotel. Glad to see that all the traditional elements of old Ritz remain. I do appreciate that the hotel is now dog friendly, very important !! Would definitely stay there again.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
