We were fortunate enough to secure reservations at the Custom House for our 25th wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. We have never stayed at this Marriott property before but we will definitely be back! When we checked in Barbara made sure our preferences for a high floor room with a...

Top marks all round. World class hotel. Amazing views from observation deck. Really not much to say except everything is spot on. Really looked after us. Really liked the friendliness of the Manager on the day of our checkout. Also great fun in the games room killing time. Had some laughs around the pool table. Well done guys Thank you

We come here early fall each year for our anniversary. Miki at the front desk was warm, friendly and professional upon our arrival this visit. Our rooms were fresh, clean and on the floor we requested. There is not one negative comment we can make about the Custom House, from the doorman to the sweet cleaning staff. We would not...

My wife and I came here for our 45th wedding anniversary and it was just what we wanted. We requested a room with a harbor view and we had one in room 1003. The rooms are suites with a fridge and microwave. There is some street noise but that is typical in a big city hotel. Cannot say enough about...

We just got back from our stay at Marriott's Custom House and it was great. The location can't be beat and the staff was so accomodating and nice. We stayed 2 nights in a 1 bedroom suite and it was very nice-spacious and clean with stocked amenities. It was nice having a separate bedroom and a free laundry room. Walking...

I booked this place base don the reviews. I was surprised by the amazing location (near Faneuil Hall), the size of the unit (spacious) and the beautiful views of the harbor. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. However very poor front desk employees and very poor front desk manager. We were not treated well as loyal Marriott guests. Very confrontational to me and my family. I was shocked. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. Trust me don't stay here.

This Marriott property is one of my favorites in Boston, the beautiful craftsmanship and history of the building is breathtaking. You will be relieved to find that even though the building is dated, the rooms are very well kept, clean, and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and embraces the reason why I refuse to stay anywhere but Marriott.

Concierge and desk staff were knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and warm. Our room had a door between our room and the living room, so our kids could sleep on the fold out couch separately from us. They did not find the couch comfortable, so I thought about rating this very good instead of excellent, but it was such an amazing find....

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
