Location & grounds are fabulous but the Holden Inn leaves a lot to be desired. I arrived late & night and my room was swarming with ants. When I told the owner the next day, he denied it and didn't believe me until I showed him for himself. The amenities are threadbare, nothing but a bar of a soap and...

beachesMa, Owner at Holden Inn, responded to this review

when this guest reported the ants it was to our summer foreign employee who did not quite understand her. When we were notified of the ant problem which here on the cape are notorious in the spring/ early summer. We went to the local hadeware store and took care of the situation. Her response was thank you and the ants...

My husband and I have been coming to the Inn every summer for over 15 years! The staff is courteous and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The Inn is ideal for a romantic getaway or a relaxing respite. Your greatest concern at this Inn will be what to do first. A 10 minute walk to the center of...

A good value, nice place. There are a few options of rooms, we were in the Lodge, and found the rooms small but well maintained, neat and clean. We had a sink in our room, but the water from it tasted metallic. There was a large common room and a large porch with a beautiful view over Wellfleet Harbor. The...

If you are like us--family with kids, seeking low hassle/relaxing travel--then this is probably not the place for you. This is roughing it. What might be seen as charming to some--thin walls, communal bathrooms, grumpy staff, rooms last renovated/decorated in the 1940's--might be seen as a disapointment to others (like us).

We just got back from an 11 night stay at the inn in the Fountain Room – very homey accommodations with air conditioner and private bathroom – wonderful roomy closets. The gardens are beautifully kept and a nice place to bring in meals or breakfasts. The service is excellent – very friendly family and young man from Lithuania on the...

Nice location - within walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants. Staff was not helpful at all, probably the least friendly of any inn I've ever stayed in. Carpets have been there for wayyyyy too long and are disgusting. No coffee in the morning was a huge disappointment! Not even instant coffee. Owner wanted to charge us 45 dollars to...

The Holden is a hidden jewel in dowtown Wellfleet. Within walking distance to the bayside beaches, shops, galleries and bars...we come back every year to the Holden. The Holden has a restful sweet feeling...an inn that feels like your staying at a family members home. You can either book one of the rooms in the guest house..on the beautiful landscaped...

My husband and I just spent a week at the Holden Inn and generally had a wonderful stay. We were in the cottage, room 2 on the first floor. We were blessed with good weather, but we did use the window fan supplied and that kept us happy on the warmer nights. (Some rooms have air conditioners. Email the Youngs...

Just got back from the Cape last week. Our stay included one night at this motel. It is within walking distance of the waterfront and reasonably close to the main street. The guy on reception who is from Lithuania was very polite and helpful. These are the pros. The cons are that the rooms are very tired. It reminded us...

All I can say is you really can't beat the price. My husband and I stay at this Inn every year. We have family that rent a cottage around the block and spend most of our time there. They were most accomodating last year as we had car trouble and had left the key for us as we were not...
