I needed a place in New York at the last minute, and got an excellent deal here. The room, a corner, was comfortably larger than most tiny NY rooms. The bed was comfortable, desk nice-sized for working, and the bathroom small but renovated. The elevator's small relative to the size of the hotel but the waits aren't too bad. There's... More

I have stayed in lots of 3* hotels in Manhattan. I usually stay near Times Square because it is so central, and I need to get around the city a lot for my work. This time I stayed at the Hotel Newton. I really liked the size of the room, which was way bigger than the rooms I have stayed... More

Hotel is clean and in a good location. Few minuses during our stay: 1) You can't control heat in the room. It's either "on" which means it gets extremely hot like a sauna, or completely off. There's no way to control the temperature. 2) We got a room that was supposed to be double queen. But our beds were clearly... More

Hello and thank you for your honest opinion of The Newton. I want to insure you that we would never claim that you were in a room type that wasn't the truth. It would be false advertising and it would also not represent the pride that the Hotel Newton staff has. We would have been more than happy to explore... More

OK so this isn't a fancy hotel. We got a deal on Trippet visor for $149+ tax, which was the lowest you could possibly get in New York City for the weekend we were there. It's on the upper West side and right next-door to a great diner. The room was a queen suite-- an upgrade from the clerk at... More

This hotel is cozy, from the unassuming entrance between 94 & 95 streets to the very snug rooms, which are smallish even by NYC standards. But traveling solo and doing little else in my hotel room besides sleeping and changing clothes, it was perfect! The staff are helpful and courteous, and I especially appreciate their closet off the lobby specifically... More

Don't stay at this hotel! The front desk staff is unbelievably rude and disrespectful! We wanted to leave the moment we got there. I've never seen such rude staff! I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall, I'd give this hotel 2.5 out of 5. Here's why, PROS: -Access to the subway. This was wonderful. Three major lines right outside your door! That was so convienient for getting around the city. -Access to Central Park. A short, pleasant walk to Central Park. -Room was clean, having a refrigerator and microwave in the room was great. -Bathroom... More

Thank you very much for your stay. We appreciate you sharing your experience with potential guest of the hotel. The Hotel Newton is between 94th & 95th street. The staff are very helpful providing helpful tips and advice. The hotel is in a quieter area of NY, you can sleep with the windows open, close to the subway for downtown, also the hop on hop off bus on the down town route stops outside the hotel. The room was... More

A classic building. Very clean, as I'm sure lots of you know, rooms in manhatten run high, hotel Newton is a smart choice, located right across the street from the 96 th street subway station, if you can deal with sharing a bathroom with one other room, you can pay as little as 155 per night, with a AAA card.... We couldn't stay at the hotel because the gave our room to other people! They send us to another hotel 10 blocks away (a better one) but the price wasn't the same. The Hotel Newton finally paid the difference.
