Very small room, no surprise there. Excellent location on quiet street in the West Village, not far from Union Square hub. Staff was friendly enough. All in all, we'd have been pleased as punch, were we not covered in insect bites. I got well over twenty nasty bites all over my body, including my face, during a four night stay....

We chose this hotel as it was near our son BUT would not choose it unless looking for a short stop over. The room was basic although clean with complimentary shower gel etc and fresh towels daily. There was cigarette smoke smells on the landing which showed people did not obey the signs. Reception said that some of their premanent...

The location of this hotel is great. The staff were friendly. We awoke covered in mosquito, and other bug bites. My partner and I had literally dozens of bites between us. There was a bite on my eyelid, my forehead, between my fingers, on my feet. It was unutterably disgusting. I told the front desk about it, and they were...

My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Larchmont for two years in a row now on holiday visits to NYC, and it absolutely fits the bill for our purposes. Being right on the doorstep of downtown and with good transport links to the midtown attractions/park etc, it is ideal. We have alway found it very safe, easy to deal...

This is a European style hotel - bathroom and shower are down the hall. No problems there: clean and unoccupied each time we used it. We liked the neighborhood. This is not a fancy hotel but is great for budget tourists.

If you refuse to share a common bathroom on the floor, then this place is not for you. But the showers and toilet areas are all private, immaculately clean and well located. "Common" does not mean there are people showering in the next stall. The individual shower rooms are locked and seldom do you even see anyone on your way...

I stayed at the Larchmont one night a week for four months when I had business at NYU. The international staff is very friendly and helpful; the location is four blocks from Washington Square Park. The rooms are small and plain; some are being redecorated, others are tired, but all are very clean. Let them know if in-room internet access...

We've stayed here a few times and agree that most of the rooms are quite tatty, the bathrooms & shower-rooms are ancient though clean and there are a few 'remodelled' rooms like the one on the homepage which are nice enough. There's free wifi in the lobby which penetrates to about the 3rd floor depending how far back you are....

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
