This hotel is a jewel in the east village. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional, the location is ideal for walking to SoHo and Greenwich Village. If you are food enthusiast, many great NYC dining spots nearby.

This is a relatively new (built 2012?) property on the Lower East Side (LES) of Manhattan just below Houston Street. There is a very nice neighborhood vibe with a lot of trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops, night clubs , live music. Hotel is right in the middle of all of it. Front desk staff is very nice and professional. Rooms...

I've stayed here a bit recently but experience has been mixed. generally it's OK in a slightly cold and characterless place but occasionally they are thoughtless. the other time they put me in a room below a party space. the party didn't stop til 1am. when I complained there was no way to sleep they could not have cared less....

The hotel is very modern, the staff friendly, the rooms are small, but not too small and the view is breathtaking. I ate at the sushi bar and had drinks at the Tiki bar, both were really good. The neighboorhood is really good. Less touristy then other places in manhattan, and close to a lot of good bars and resturants....

Positive points: very nice staff, helpful concierge, great massage therapist upon request, nice sauna and gym, nice bed. Well situated, if you like the LES. Negative points: not very new and clean, doesn't look like cleaning took more than 20 minutes in between guests (don't look behind drapes and bed), very small room, no dim lights to read (either extremely...

Perfect location for us on the Lower East Side. Many shops and restaurants well within walking distance. Decent size room and layout for a NYC hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. A few annoyances: had to have the TV serviced twice, the A/C once, and the fire alarm went off vacating the entire building...long walk down the staircase from the 11th...

Having stayed in a number of other hotels nearby, some costing more, I was thrilled to find the Sixty LES. We encourage you to try a corner King, the lower floor corner Kings have terrific, huge, terraces and the upper floors have jaw dropping views, as do most all of the rooms, I suspect. We were in the city with...

Great little hotel right in the thick of things. Quiet friendly neighborhood. Super helpful doorman named Raul, who was also easy on the eyes. Gym is tiny, but get your exercise out exploring the hood.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the epicenter of downtown Manhattan's vibrant New Renaissance in cuisine, galleries, live music clubs, and nightlife spots, the fun-defining SIXTY LES evokes the youthful spirit of its all-hours neighborhood-an indie-vibed district on display from nearly every Jim Walrod-curated suite's floor-to-ceiling windows. Andy Warhol's visage looks up from the scene-and-be-seen swimming pool's bottom, while gritty images by iconic photographer Lee Friedlander illuminate bedroom headboards. Step out into the street life and walk directly into the world-recognized New Museum or countless gastronaut destination spots. But guests need go no further than the vibrant award-winning Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya tavern and bar for Japanese cuisine and stellar cocktails, courtesy of foodie deities the Bromberg brothers. SIXTY LES is part of SIXTY Hotels, a new, innovative of luxury inns located in New York, Los Angeles, and debuting in Miami soon-ish. ... more   less
