Incentra Village Guest House, an Historic Inn, was built in 1841, and occupies two brick landmark townhouses in New York City's Greenwich Village Historic District. As an attractive alternative to Midtown's steel and glass, the Village House offers our guests a warm welcome in our cozy front office featuring a fireplace, antique furnishings and artwork. To get to your room you'll wander down narrow halls and up charming old stairways to one of 12 unique rooms.

What a fantastic location, comfortable beds, hot shower such helpful staff who went the extra mile. The cafes, bars amenities around were great you really didn't need to leave 8th Ave if you didn't want to! It was a short walk to the subway and so quick and easy to get around Manhattan and over to Brooklyn from there, most places a 20 minute journey. We stayed for a week and were very sad to leave. We will be recommending to others who are heading there and would love to stay there again in the future if we get back to New York. We will have fond memories of our stay here.

My sweetie and I just spent a weekend there. Found the staff to be very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, and the place was really charming in a funky urban-antique-furniture way. Best part was probably the location - near the 8 avenue subways, chelsea market, and all the other great things that the VIllage has to offer. This might not be a good choice if you want a modern, sterile corporate chain hotel, if don't like funky furniture and decor, if you don't want a place with actual stairs, or freak out at old-school things like a real metal key or windows that open, but a great choice if you want a place with personality and character in the heart of the village.

Just stayed one night, anniversary trip with my wife, coming from Long Island. Staff was friendly can be. We stayed in the bishop suite. A We lot of room for a nyc hotel and priced well. It is an old building and shows it, but that’s also the charm. Our room was clean, comfortable and the hotel is in a great location. Would recommend to others and will likely stay again.

2 of the 3 inn employees we engaged with were shockingly rude. The ladies looking after the place seem very unhappy working there or are otherwise angry at the world. The reception is untidy, employees are smoking on the front stairs and don’t respond to greetings, and the common areas are left littered with cleaning materials. By the end of our stay we found the attitude of the staff so bad it became comical as if they were putting on a show! It’s a shame that the place is so poorly managed as the rooms and location are great.

We stayed in the Washington suite and it worked well for us as my daughter got a bit of space to herself on the mezzanine. The location is super, easy walking to the subway and countless places to eat and drink. The staff were very helpful including storing our bags for us on our last day as we had a late flight. All in all, good value for money.

I've actually been coming to the Incentra since the 1980s. I love the West Village and its small cafes, coffee shops, the candy store at one corner and magazine stand at the other of Incentra's block, the wine store across the street, the greasy spoon-but-great food diner next door: it's a great neighborhood. The Incentra feels more guest house than hotel, with each room different, all homey and confortable. The staff is super nice. I asked for recommendations for a drop off laundry, having been on the road a week, and one said, "Oh, let me do that for you here." While some think of NYC as a big impersonal place, my trips to the Incentra feel like home in the city.

we arrived from a 4 day train journey across America from San Francisco to New York via Chicago. We were made very welcome, our room was warm and the beds comfortable. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar were provided along with a micro wave and fridge. Also bookcase with an assortment of books. The location is excellent, plenty of places to eat, and we walked to Ground Zero, Times Square, Madison Square and the High Line from the hotel

Loved my stay here. It's an historic old property, which I enjoy. I was in the Stable Room. The hotel is close to the subway (3 blocks) and attractions.(High Line). Lots of places to eat and drink nearby and many gardens to explore. The vube of this area is kaid back and peaceful. Definitely not Times Square, and for me...that's what I liked most. I will return!

I love this cozy little hotel in the West Village--and always stay here when I come to NY. Each room is comfortable and unique, and the staff is always friendly. It's an easy walk to the subway, with lots of good restaurants and diners nearby.

I really love this neighborhood and will always stay here if given a chance. The rates are half what full service hotels are, so if budget matters, this place is very fine! Local haunts in the West Village make this the most special location of all!!!
