I recently stayed at this property for a night in the city before my wedding. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and home like the room felt. As some city hotel rooms feel small and confining this hotel felt warm and cozy :) The staff from front desk to housecleaning were all cheerful and friendly!

Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location, silent but central located. Good quality of food and coffee. Good quality in the rooms. Nice lounge with great pre dinner cocktails. We had a very nice stay with 4 nights.

Close to Empire State building. Newly renovated rooms. I found it pricey for the day I stayed, I would not visit again for that price. Rooms have a mini bar, the smaller rooms can maybe feel too small for some. But I found it OK.

We stayed here for a week in October. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and modern and above all it was quiet. Great location for sightseeing and it wasn't too expensive either, overall a great hotel in the heart of the city.

Just before we jetted of to NYC we changed our hotel HGU... and what a great decision this was!! The hotel feels like a small boutique hotel, with that personal boutique hotel service included. From the doormen to the bar to the reception, they were all so nice and helpful. A lovely blonde girl with fierce curls gave us great...

Being in NYC plenty times and staying in five- and four star hotels, I've never had such a splendid experience. Neat, smartly equipped rooms with spacious and stylish bathrooms, perfect breakfast with good (yep!) coffee, friendly and ready to help staff - I can go in and on. The only small disadvantage from my viewpoint is rather small room which...

Good quality hotel in the centre of Manhatten. Rooms are very small but clean and with a good size bathroom. Don't take a large suitcase! Service was friendly, I stayed only for one night and didn't have the opportunity to use the restaurant or breakfast.

This is a difficult hotel to pin down. There's nothing specifically wrong with it but it's just a little off. Nothing to particularly dislike but then nothing to love. Impersonal. Imperfect. Typical midtown Manhattan hotel - long thin footprint, small elevator, darkish corridors. The bedroom is stylish but small as you would expect in NYC Particularly short on storage. No...

Everything is great, the staff is very kind, beautiful room, lobby and lounge very nice. The hotel is great located, walking distance to almost everywhere and a Metro Station is a few steps away so you can reach any place of the city in a few minutes.

12/23/16 I arrived the hotel at 7am, it was really early. This was my first time to stay in HGU, so I though I couldn't check-in early, but I was really tired. The staff said I could check-in early and took a rest. So I really appreciated him to make me check-in early.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
