We were there for overnight stay, LOVED the great food, service and the room was perfect - and most convenient location! Easily see it all here from mid-town, NYC. Most elegant dining, service & stay in an elegant townhouse in convenient mid-town!

The Box Tree is sort of a stage set. It looks great in photographs, but in reality it's a cheap imitation...lots of paint and spit and make-do cover-ups. But more importantly is considering how one would get out of there if there were a fire. The restaurant food is superb, so there's no problem there. Expensive, but worth it. I...

My husband and I stayed at the Box Tree in June after returning from our honeymoon. We booked the room on expedia for about $200. When we arrived at the hotel, the people at the restaurant carried our bags in the room. We stayed in room # 3, the Egyptian room. It was beautifully decorated and had a fireplace, a...

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2004. The room was comfortable, bathroom tiny, had a great shower and plenty of hot water. Enjoyed the fact that it gave the feeling of staying in a New York neighborhood and it was very quiet. Disappointed in the advertised "complimentary breakfast delivered daily to guestrooms" ...this consisted of a coffee maker...

The Box Tree was a perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend in New York. The fact that each room is decorated in a particular style makes it special. Absolutely exquisite. Breakfast was served in our room in the morning, with a fire burning in the fireplace and a rose on the table. We will never forget it.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
