We found the Sofitel met and exceeded our expectations. The professionalism, service and attention to detail was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff aimed to ensure our needs were met. The breakfast each morning was exceptional as was the advice and local...More
We stayed at the Sofitel in New York from July 1, 2018- July 8, 2018. The hotel itself is conveniently located to Times Square and many local subway stations. The hotel room was much larger then we anticipated considering it is located in mid-town Manhattan....More

I’ve been staying at the Midtown Sofitel for 15 years now at least twice a year, sometimes more. I’ve been occasionally unfaithful and flirted with the St. Regis and the Mandarin Oriental when lucky enough to have someone else footing the bill, but if it’s...More
We just stayed here at the Sofitel Hotel for three nights which is conveniently located in midtown near to the broadway shows. Sofitel Hotel was a HUGE disappointment. We checked in early around 11:00 am and were told to take our bags to the bellman...More
Just a quickie.
Booked a suite and got an upgrade to one of the few with an open balcony.
2 blocks to Times Square, but actual locale not too budy by NYC standars, so nice balance.
Room solid 4 star, verging on 5.

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

While I do know that a Keurig coffee maker, coffee & condiments are available for asking (ask as soon as you book the room for better chance of getting this), I have never requested a mini fridge. It doesn't hurt to call and ask. And if "at first" you don't get an answer, ask for someone else to help you with answering this question, on the 3rd try ask for the "Manager on Duty"!
What this forum asks of you, is to report back once you have made 3 attempts and let us know if you succeeded or not!!!
Patty (a repeat Sofitel customer, would take a lot to stay anywhere else in mid Manhattan near Theatre District/Restaurants/Times Square/Rockefeller Center, and for those train riders, N-S subway real close by too!)!!

I'm not sure what you mean by "special suite" ?
The location of the Sofitel is good, but I'm not sure we would stay at this hotel again on our next visit to NYC. The room was small and the accommodations/ amenities were nothing special. We, also, had a difficult time getting a response when we needed the front desk representatives.
