Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

I enjoyed my stay here. The bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and I had a room in the quiet area of the hotel. The elevators seem to have a mind of their own, so do account for that. Most of the staff is lovely while some were a bit disinterested and / or rude.

Warmly welcomed by the staff from the moment of check-in and throughout our entire 5 day stay! The holiday season in NYC can often overwhelm even the most polished hotel staff – but that was hardly the case at The Dream Downtown- the entire staff- from management, to front

Joseph Sabatelli at the Concierge desk really made this trip special for us. We were new to this hotel and had lots of questions. Talked to Joe before we arrived from NC about tickets to show, transportation, where to eat, etc. Everything was waiting for us when we arrived

It’s call dream and for the first business trip to NYC, that was a dream! The room is small but really comfortable with a king size bed. The open bathroom is really modern like the entire hotel. The roof top bar is just amazing. The food is not so dreamy.

Hi mel0621, We do not allow children at the pool after 12pm during our summer months. This is due to the adult nature of the pool along with our full bar that serves alcohol after 11am. During our winter months, we do allow children at the pool under adult supervision.

Thank you so much for your inquiry! Although we are a non smoking hotel. We do allow for smoking on the balcony as long as the balcony door is closed behind you and there is no ash or smoke smell in the room. Our Bronze king balconies as well as silver king pool rooms both feature a Juliet step out balcony.

There is a cafe right in the lobby, also a Mexican restaurant out the door. Chelsea Market is right across the street. You'll find lots of places there.
