This was a great location right smack in the middle of Chinatown, perfect to usher in The Year of the Rat! It was an easy walk to the subway which took you hither and thither in the city.

The hotel was extremely clean and my bathroom was about one-third the size of the bedroom. The breakfast was ample, with three staff members continually straightening up the counters and replenishing items such as eggs, bagels, and big luscious oranges. Pepperidge Farm cookies were available in the lobby in the evenings. It was not The Plaza or The Waldorf Astoria but definitely, a great value for New York City.

The hotel was part of a big building which also housed an immense Chinese supermarket. Under the supermarket was a fish, meat, live turtles, live frogs, and fresh produce section. The smells from here permeated and flowed through the elevator shaft that was connected to the hotel. Thus, when I stepped into the elevator on arrival, there was a slight weird smell. Someone explained that it was from the fish downstairs. There were, however, absolutely no smells in the room or hallways.

The staff was friendly and helpful. One morning, the floor on the breakfast room level was very wet after being mopped. I informed the front desk and the receptionist immediately jumped into action and had it dried.

The clientele was a mix. There was a group of women with gift bags and trays of food prepared by the hotel. Families with children, singles, and senior citizens of different races mingled easily. It was pleasant every morning to linger over cups of coffee in the breakfast room.

I had a very good stay. New York City was a lot of fun. I hope to return again, perhaps, in The Year of the Cow. Moooooo....

I recently stayed with my family at the Fairfield Inn. The hotel is on the border of Chinatown and almost next to the Subway that you can hear go by any time of the night. Across from the hotel is a little park with Homeless people hanging out. The room is small and there is an annoying sensor outside the bathroom that turns on the light outside the bathroom when you come near it. So if you use the bathroom in the night not only does the bathroom light go on but the light outside the bathroom goes on as well. They serve a free buffet breakfast in the morning. During these trouble times, I don't know who wants to eat food that everyone else has also picked from. If you want to stay in Chinatown there are better choices than this hotel.

We booked this hotel last minute because the place we originally planned to stay in had a broken ac (and it was ridiculously hot outside). We feel like we totally lucked out finding this hotel! The staff was so welcoming and helpful and our room was very clean and decent in size by NYC standards. The free breakfast was also a huge hit with my children. If you need parking, the hotel works with a garage about two blocks away and the price is reasonable. Best of all, in my opinion, is the hotel's location. Both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges are close for great walking and the heart of Chinatown is just blocks away. There is so much to see and do within walking distance from the hotel and you also have easy access to the metro. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here as part of our spring vacation in New York. Right from the time we checked in we experienced very high quality in every aspect of our stay from the cleanliness to the comfort to the free breakfast they serve. The front desk staff is very helpful with any questions you have about the city or directions.
This place as one of the best breakfasts we have experienced in a hotel. Every day they had 2 different hot items while there were the standard 2 items of scrambled eggs and cheese omelettes everyday.
The rooms were very comfortable and cleaning service was very good. The hotel is 6 mins walk to the East Broadway subway station , so we could take the subway everywhere in NYC.
I very highly recommend this place, 5 stars all the way.

We were treated so well by the front desk hosts...Derek, Chavon & Lateah! I'm certain part of the kindness and careful attention given was due to our precious grand children capturing their attention!
Breakfast was very filling, tasty fruit was always available.
We loved being close to Subway F connection.
We will see you again soon!
Thank you!

Yippie!! welcome back Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Downtown East
This hotel was absolutely excellent! We've stayed there on Feb 2020 then we've tried to stay again during last year but the due to the situation the hotel was locked down.
Then I've noticed that this hotel is opened again .
Stayed on last weekend 08-15-2021 it was fabulous:)) Unfortunalty the coffee which is supposed to be available for 24 hours were closed but hence that's not a big deal LOL
Cleanness, The locations location!! Room size Friendly staff Bathroom was big size.
Bed was comfortable .. Breakfast was good!
Only one thing .. sadly our refrigerator was not working correctly . They need to check this out which we've mentioned when we check out.
Its worth paying.. it's a great hotel!
Thank you guys! Hotel staff!

We paid over $400 for one night stay on a business trip. The room did not have any soap, Kleenex or hot water. Upon inquiry at the front desk the hotel was out of bar soap and could only provide two small plastic containers of body soap and no Kleenex. For the cost of the room we were shocked at the bare bones lobby and dated rooms as well. Will not be returning.

The hotel manager Dominique appears to not care about safety or service. We stayed at this hotel in December 2021 and had a homeless man approach my husband in the second floor lounge. After repeatedly trying to reach the manager about our concerns with safety, we were told she didn't show up for her shift that day. We decided to check out and go to a hotel that would have better safety protocols. The manage Dominique denies receiving my complaint even though I personally left her two voicemails and Marriott Bonvoy agents emailed her twice, She is unwilling to take responsibility and refuses to credit me back for the two remaining nights we had reserved.
On top of that this hotel is rundown and smells bad. Management overlooks small and easy repairs in rooms.
I recommend booking your stay elsewhere.

We had a nice family room (king size bed plus sofa bed) on the 7th floor. Beds were comfy, room was clean, good bathroom. The free breakfast was good, not much fruit but plenty of bagels/muffins, and a few cereals and hot dishes such as eggs, pancakes or sausage patties. Plenty of choice of fruit juices, coffee, teas. My partner used the gym, it was small but fine for use over a couple of days. Only negatives of the hotel are the fishy smell (especially in the elevators) due to the Chinese supermarket next door and this sometimes permeates into the corridors. They have air fresheners installed to try to minimise the smell. The other issue is the constant train noise from the Manhattan bridge which is close by, we got used to it after the first night. The hotel is in Chinatown, not the best area but ok in the daytime and only a 5 min walk to the subway (East broadway). Also some good restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk, and Little Italy is around a 15 min walk. Overall a good value hotel to stay in for a few days.

We are travelling in December, are there any deposits or room tax on arrival that we should be aware of? Thank you
Answer from Lola M

There are taxes- i think city tax is about 14.5% or something along those lines. You pay when you check out unless you book a non refundable rate where you may need to pay ahead so it depends on the rate you selected.

Dear Omarrodz Sorry for my late reply, I only saw your question now. I fear I cannot really help. We arrived in JFK and took a cab. I do not know the fares for any transport from LGA. Enjoy your holidays! Best regards Stefan
