Since opening its doors in 1931, JW Marriott Essex House New York has served as an iconic Central Park hotel, delivering exceptional experiences for its guests. This New York luxury hotel welcomes you with contemporary guestrooms and suites – many affording views of Central Park – that...
I love the Marriott and this kills me to give a great hotel an average review. Ive been a Marriott Gold member for 25 years so when I say this hotel needs a change, it's not to hurt the reputation, but to help them live...More
Was a Little skeptical booking an "older" hotel - but was pleasantly surprised - Room was bigger then expected and park view was AMAZING - the staff was great - We would stay here again - The Location and Views are well worth it.
I am a Marriott Platinum Rewards member and stayed here on July 2, 2018 for 5 nights celebrating my daughters birthday. This is a classic historical hotel and we loved every minute of it. Check in took about 15 minutes and our room was not...More
Overall a solid choice with renovated rooms but can be pricey for what you get.
Location: If you want to be near Central Park, you can't beat this location. Directly across the street to a main park entrance. Also near many subway lines.

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
I am not with Marriott, but rather a guest there. Find and use a parking app is what I would suggest. But don’t forget, we’re talking about New York City, and their rate is on par with other NYC hotels!
