My husband and I stayed here in late January and really enjoyed the location of this hotel. The room was small, but very clean and well maintained. There is only one elevator, so if you are on a high floor, the spiral stair case is your only other option if you are waiting to get to the lobby. The staff...

My wife and I had certain expectations about this hotel. They were exceeded. The lobby is welcoming and obviously a gathering place for not only guests but also locals. That contributed to a friendly vibe which was reinforced immediately and throughout our two day stay by the outstanding front of house staff and the delightful young man who attended to...

What a marvelous surprise in the heart of New York. The location is just perfect, the atmosphere is exquisite and the staff is both professional and friendly. The rooms are superbly decorated and are kept spot free clean.I will definetly come back and suggest to anybody coming in the city

This is a restored historic hotel. It is spotlessly clean and neat. The small rooms are really small, not even room for a chair, but for a single person for 2 nights it was fine. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There is a restaurant, bar and coffee bar in the hotel and the items I had were very nice....

Let me start off by saying I would have given this hotel a 3.5 out of 4 if TripAdvisor allowed it. I don't really think it deserved a 3; however, I could not justify giving it a 4. Pros: The hotel is situated in a great location - right by a lot of great restaurants in Greenwich Village. The rooms...

I rarely review a hotel, however since I had high expectations that were not met I decided to comment. As noted in the prior reviews the rooms run on the small size so we were looking forward to spending some time in the cozy lounge area that has a fireplace. That being said we were there for three nights and I...

This is a gem of a hotel, wonderful service, atmospheric lounge, and a great location set in the hear of Greenwich Village, within walking distance of the East Village, or shoot up 5th Avenue for a nice little walk to the Flat Iron district. Also within walking distance of the High Line and Chelsea ... The place has a great...

I stayed at The Marlton for 1 night while in town for business. My husband decided to come along as well. When we entered the lobby we felt like we were transported back in time. I definitely didn't feel hip enough to hang out in the lounge - but it was super cool and a throwback to another time for...

The Marlton has a distinctly special European feel to it, great attention to detail without too much fuss. I thoroughly enjoyed our beautifully appointed room and the lovely breakfast's that were included in the rate. Sadly, I doubt that I'll ever convince my husband to return due to the size of our room.. Upon arrival we were advised we had...

Exquisite boutique hotel! Perfectly designed and furnished to evoke the "golden age/beat generation" era. Rooms on small side, but being so centrally located to Washington Square Park and historic Greenwich Village, we didn't spend much time in our room. Highly recommend 👍✌️

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With the Marlton Hotel, located in the heart of Greenwich Village, comes the latest vision of Hotelier Sean MacPherson. This elegantly restored landmark building was formerly a home to famous artistic figures of the Bohemian and Beat movements, ‘most notably Jack Kerouac’. MacPherson redesigned the property by combining the original architecture with updated French influences for a look inspired by Paris and Greenwich Village history. This “baby grand” hotel guest rooms are charmingly petite yet grand in décor. Guest rooms feature herringbone wood floors, brass fixtures, crown moldings, and marble bathrooms. The ground floor of the property features a 100-seat restaurant with a coffee bar. ... more   less
