Stayed back in March when visiting family and friends and couldn't have left more happy! Rooms very well put together and the staff create a very personalized service that will make you feel like you're at home! The location is amazing as well because it is on a side street in the heart of Times Square!! While the street it...

I am a frequent guest at the Mela as I travel to NYC on business. My office is just around the corner in Times Square area. It is amazing how just one block off Times Square minimizes the madness! Linens are excellent, staff are personable and always ready to help with any need. The rooms without the desk are indeed...

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. It's very clean, comfortable and in an ideal spot, in the theatre district, to see New York. This was my daughter's 1st time to the US and having a great place to stay, made the stay ideal. If and when we return, the Mela will be on the list for a place to...

We just came back after spending 2 nights at Hotel Mela. The location is just great! Just few steps from time square! The rooms are very very small, we got first one which had a queen bed, but the rooms wasn´t big enough, we din´t even have space to open the bags on the floor. We got another room, one...

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Mela in NYC in late August. We had booked a travel package deal which included flights and accommodation that was nearby to all of the attractions, modern, not too expensive, had good reviews and no bedbugs! We weren’t disappointed with Hotel Mela. It is located less than one block from Times Square, the...

Yes, the rooms are small, but it's NYC, so that's to be expected unless you're willing to shell out for the Plaza. Their customer loyalty program is nice - when I went back to change for the eveing they had left a bag of chips and bottle of juice on the nightstand. I'd stay there again, provided I can find...

Recently stayed for one night @ Hotel Mela as I was in town attending a conference. Check-in was prompt and efficient. The room was clean and small, but not unexpected. The bed and linens were perfectly fine and comfortable. My only beef is two-fold. One, the wireless internet is complimentary which is nice, but the reception in my room was...

The hotel is cute, with nice bedding and boutique amenities. Our room was compact, but I expected it. We had a nice view of the street. The staff was great - sending by husband a birthday balloon and treat. All old converting buildings are going to have small rooms. The location is great for getting subways and cabs.

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the hotel's convenience to Times Square and numerous restaurants. We easily walked to Macy's on 34th street and up to the Today Show at Rockefeller Center as well as the Letterman Show on Broadway at 53rd Street. Based on earlier reviews we expected a tiny room but found that the room was...

Have stayed here many times while staying in NY. This time I was so disappointed. Bathroom was filthy and carpeting hadn't been vaccumed. The toilet seat was filthy. They said the place was full and couldn't give us another room. After 1/2 hour on the phone to the front desk and being put on hold twice they said they would...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
