I've stayed in two separate AKA properties in New York City for a grand total of 40 days, so it seems about time to write one of them up. As I've mentioned in previous reviews, I am a writer and a photographer and I go to New York twice a year for fashion week, which requires me to work super...

We stayed 10 nights here. I have to say when we first arrived at the AKA I was a little disappointed. The room was nothing like the photos showed, we found out later that the photos on the internet weren't actually of this particular hotel, which I think is a little deceiving. Anyway after i got over all that I...

My wife and I were staying at the Sofitel New York also on 44th street. Last Thursday night my wife was treating me to a show on Broadway - The Lion King. We were all dressed up and walking towards Times Square on 44th street when suddenly it started to rain heavily. We took shelter under the AKA hotel canopy...

A good experience from start to finish. Was going to spend one night at AKA on the way back from Chicago and could not stay there on the way through as they were fully booked. They were very accommodating in storing luggage for 4 nights before arrival. Reception was good and professional. Moved all luggage up into rooms when they...

We stayed here on the first leg of our honeymoon. We ordered a car to pick us up; this was done via email with the hotel and the service was excellent. On arrival, we were told about the nearest convenience store so went and stocked up. Everything here is 24 hours so whether you need toilet roll or beer, it's...

We just recently stayed here in a one bedroom apt. It is large for New York standards which was great after a long day in the crowds. The apt is equipped with everything you would need! Best was having the washer and dryer! It is not a large building which made the waits for the elevators minimal and the desk...

Our room living room had 3 windows overlooking our street. They shopped for us before we arrived and left our desired snacks in our kitchen and our refrigerator. Our cool bathroom had a washer and dryer (soap was there for the washer). We had two televisions that included HBO. The bed and couch were very comfortable. The front desk staff...

Our suite is large with king-size bed in a queen-sized bedroom, but very comfortable. Great amenities, separate study, free wifi, nice and quiet. Lovely thick towels and they seem to only clean the rooms every few days. Housekeeping forgot to vacuum before we checked in and although I asked twice, it took 'till the third day before it was vacuumed....

This is the perfect location - tucked in enough from Broadway so that it is much quieter when you return to the apartment/condo and yet so close to the "action" just down the street at Times Square. A very safe area. Great for our family in summer and we also came for New Year's Eve. We could see the ball...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
