Read most of the reviews bf booking and they proved to be a fair assessment. The hotel has a GREAT location, with large rooms, but needs updating. I think they are working on it as our room (1 of the 4 rooms in our group) was really lovely! the only other room I went into (a 1BR suite) did need...

We just spent the weekend at the Salisbury. The location is great! Right in the center of mid-town Manhattan. Walking distance to the Theater District and 5th Avenue shopping. Easy access to the NYC Subway at the 57th Street Station. The rooms are very large by New York standards. We stayed in a King Suite which is almost 600SF with...

What a place to stay??? We came upon it and stayed there every time we were in Manhattan. It was a real bargain and the breakfast was delightful.... Several times we rented a suite and extra rooms when our entire family gathered there. Our daughter had twin girls in 1990 and a year later we were all there again... Parking...

This is the second time I have stayed here...the first time about 5 years ago it was dated and certain areas were a bit tired but the location was great, and the staff were friendly. But now it's extremely tired and dated. The staff were friendly and accomodating for our late arrival. And the rooms are pretty big and you...

This hotel apears to be in eed of modernation, but us spacious rooms- aoartments have mases of space- far more than other hotels in this priace range, and the location close to Times Square af just accros the street from Carnegie Halll would be hard to beat. Tke accesble sunway and Central Park are onlya chort wa; away Although there...

It was a well maintained old hotel. But like all New York hotels, you aren't paying the extra price for the hotel, you are paying for the location. This was ok if you wanted to spend your time uptown, it was close to Central park, there was a deli and pharmacy across the street for meals which was good but...

My suite was larger than my former 1 bedroom NYC apt. Although the hotel is dark and dreary looking it is super clean. So-o-o convenient being able to walk to the "B" stores (Bloomies, Bendels, Barney's) and to Lincoln Center as well as Times Square. MANY buses and subways on the corner. No room service or doorman but w/a fridge,...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Checking in was very quick, and I got a free upgrade to a suite (and that on top of an incredible rate from Expedia). The rooms are a little bit dated, but who cares? It's very clean and comfortable and I've literally never seen such spacious rooms in many years of visiting...

Over my 1 week, was in 2 different rooms due to our group's configuration. The larger 2 bdrm suite was spacious, but a little neglected and out dated. My final room was nicer and more updated. A lovely Morton-Williams grocery store (24 hours) is directly across the street, which is very convenient for grabbing this and that at any hour....

Okay....so this is not your big frills hotel with elegant appointments and restaurant. It is, however, a great location and good value especially for a one bedroom suite and that is why we are giving it a 4 rating. Staff is nice especially the housekeeping staff. This is our 3rd stay here and we would return. Our only complaint this...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
