I was in Midtown Manhattan for a conference and then stayed a few extra days after my wife arrived.
Yes, the rooms are small. Yes, they are somewhat dated. But the price and location made it worthwhile. If you want a higher end experience for...More
Hard to understand why this place is not refurbished to have a better and not necessarily more expensive look.
The reception is sad, the lifts are old, the rooms depressing

Oct 17th-18th. Flew in for a one day biz trip, picked hotel because of location near both Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses; and I needed a large safe which all rooms provide.. Prime location, excellent mid-range value. Reserved a single king, was given a spacious...More
Sure the building is old and this is not the Ritz or Grand Hyatt, but I can not think of a better three star hotel in Manhattan. This is a great location, fantastic staff, and sizeable rooms. You may feel that you are in an...More
Room very big and comfortable
Location excellent. Near to amenities.
I liked the big rooms, I did not like the bathroom.
The Hotel seems to be very old. Elevators too slow.
Personnel quite kind.

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Hi - I don't remember specifically; however, I do know it was a charge we did not feel was justified and therefore, we did not use our wifi at the hotel. It was in teh $20-$25 range and it was a PER DEVICE charge, not per room. We went to a Starbucks close by when we needed it. We have 4 children, 2 of whom are teenagers and they LOVE their wifi, however, they did not complain about this once, probably because we were out so much. If I were traveling for business and had work to do, this might be a concern for me. For us, it wasn't an issue. Hope that helps.
