We love this Hotel. It's the best value for stay. It has a "hostel" like set up with bunk rooms and shared bathrooms, but one can get a room that includes a bathroom if they don't want to walk down the hall. The hotel is...More
This is a great budget option by New York prices. The location is smack in midtown so you can walk or get the subway everywhere. They have a little rooftop spot and the cafe downstairs is really nice for breakfast or a drink and reasonably...More
We stayed here for 5 days and the place way great, clean tidy and well presented! Rooms aren't very spacious but it what you can only expect for this price in the city! The shared bathrooms were clean and usually one available on the floor!...More
The situation is perfect, and I was able to walk to the hotel from Port Authority Bus Terminal. The room was nice, comfortable, and very clean. The common bathroom was clean and actually quite nice, and I never had to wait. The staff has been...More
I stayed at the POD 51 for 3 nights for a whirlwind Broadway Show Run and tourist visit. meaning I did not intend to be in my room much at all, was alone, so this seemed to be a great idea for my sleeping arrangements....More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the

affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Hello Ellen,
The shared bathrooms are not shared with every room on the floor, because the majority of our rooms have en suite baths. There are 2 to 4 shared baths per floor, with only a few guests sharing each. Our housekeeping staff diligently keeps the bathrooms clean between uses, as you will see mentioned in the majority of reviews that comment on shared baths. They are always locked, they require a room key to open, and there is an additional bolt in each while occupied.

Hello! We're about 10 minutes away from Penn Station and about 15 minutes from NYU, by subway. Both are easy to get to, with only one train (no transferring required).
