Had a positive experience at the Hotel Stanford ranging from the initial emails I had prior to arrival with reservation staff to the final booking of an SUV to get to JFK. If you are looking for a flashy NY hotel with a view, this isn't it BUT it is only about 50 paces away from one of the most... More

Myself and my daughter stayed here for 5 nights in October. We had not been to NYC before and managed to make our own way via train to Penn Station and then walking a few blocks from the station to the hotel. Its location is in midtown and the empire state building is to the rear and nearly every other... More

The location of this hotel is spot on for a city break exploring New York its right in the middle of mid town so walking to all the attractions is no problem turn left out of the hotel for 5th Ave and right for Macy's which seems to make up for the basic rooms and facilities .We arrived on the... The staff was very helpful, very willing to answer any questions etc. The hotel was under construction but our room was very nice and clean. Large bathroom, 2 full beds, couch, chair, TV, coffee table and desk. It included a breakfast which consists of cereal, muffins, croissants, coffee, juice or milk. The hotel was close to so many things, Empire... More

Awesome central location, very clean and staff was awesome and very accommodating. Upgraded to a Jr Suite as the first room was small and the window didn't open. Hotel is under some renos, but didn't matter much. Great continental breakfast and very cool bar area for guests. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over a long weekend. The hotel is in a great location. The hotel is right around the corner from the Empire State Building. It is next door to a subway station and a very short walk (with Luggage) from Penn Station if coming from the airports JFK or Newark are the ones... More

This tired hotel is currently undergoing renovation, which is always tricky. Loud noises and blocked off ugliness abound. But let's start with the pluses: - location. Two block walk from Penn Station, close to subway, close to Macy's. - staff are, in the main, lovely and helpful. Minuses: - the biggest one for me was it only has one tiny... More

We arrived at the Stanford at 9 pm after a long day travelling from Las Vegas , so we hoped to just drop our bags off have a drink and a bite to eat , first impressions weren't good ! The whole front of hotel is covered in scaffold and all that's visible is the entrance way , which is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
