We were very excited to get a room at a 'deal' on hotels . Com. It was really tiny- like most rooms in NYC. Of course it is an older hotel so be prepared for old plumbing in the bathroom and the shower didn't drain well; which was kinda gross. We didn't eat at the hotel - we opted to...

If you have any appreciation at all for art deco you will be unhappy to hear that the Waldorf Astoria hotel is slated for conversion to condominiums, with some hotel rooms, but to reopen only after an indeterminate amount of time. We spent three days there last month. My wife has a greater understanding of art then I have but...

I brought my Mom to New York as her first trip out of state. Talk about a culture shock being from a small town. The Waldorf Towers were amazing. One of the mornings there were "too many" people in the restaurant (there was actually a famous person dining and I think they wanted privacy to be honest) so they upgraded...

I can't complain for being my first time to New York City, the Big Apple, and having the great opportunity of staying at Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in 1963, invited by the former great Airline Eastern, at that time we were a group of PAN AMERS, from different parts of the World, I came from Maracaibo, Venezuela, working for Pan Am...

Over the past few visits to New York I've always wanted to stay here at this iconic hotel. I'm so glad I have done it's a spectacular hotel. The rooms are really nice with very big comfortable bed and pillows. Some fixtures and fittings a bit dated but didn't cause to much interference with our stay. Ice machine close to...

From arrival to departure, the service at the Waldorf was excellent. The reception at the front desk was warm and professional. Both the concierge and front desk were among the top for the quality of service. We had a small issue with our room and they took care of it immediately. We decided to take a junior suite. It is...

This stay was on my list of "must do's" and on my 50th, my husband and I decided to book the hotel. We were not disappointed with the grandure and elegance of this historical property. We were upgraded to a suite when the staff discovered it was a special birthday for me so our room was most likely not what...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
