Well after reading such varied reviews i was very jubious on how the hotel would be but me and my partner had no problems. The location was perfect, everything was walking distance. Our room on the 8th floor (819) was perfect size for the 2 of us. Everything worked fine too, the heating, the shower, the tv, the lifts. Yes...

This is a really beautiful but old hotel so expect it to be run down a bit. The rooms were smaller than expected but the bed was really comfortable and cozy. I loved how central this hotel was to everything a tourist needs to see in Manhattan.

Clean, beautiful exterior and interior. Room exceeded our expectations! Suite for 2 adults and 2 teens included 2 full baths which was a bonus. Excellent location to so much NYC has to offer. Only suggestion is better wifi connection...spotty at best in-room. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to others.

First time staying at the Roosevelt. The lobby is beautiful, and the butlers who carry your luggage inside for you when you arrive were really nice too. So, through the night it was very hot, barely slept, second night, through the night, very hot, slept for a good 5 hours, third night, very hot, slept for a good 5 hours....

Sorry folks but we had a great time. Let's face it as a tourist to New York how much time do you actually spend in your hotel Room! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon with trepidation having read the reports... check in took less than 10 minutes from a very polite and informative lady. The lifts took seconds to arrive...

I will keep this brief, yes the Hotel lobby and exterior is very nice, the room we stayed in was okay but the customer service was terrible, not the usual New York standard that I would expect. Looking at the reviews, it seems a very mixed bag, I would totally agree that this is a nice traditional New York hotel,...

Pictures are deceiving, don’t let them fool you! This is not a 4-star hotel. Rooms are very basic, a plain white bed, terrible pillows and old furniture; bathrooms look very cheap. Room was so noisy at night we could not sleep at all and had to cancel our second day activities and go home. Another problem was the room temperature....

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years. It's a grand old lady! The lobby is lovely (though I was wondering what happened to the massive floral arrangement in the centre this year?) This hotel always has so many bad reviews - why? well, I expect they are from people who haven't spent much time in...

1st impression, one doorman not interested in helping us. Lobby looked grand, downhill from there. Reception staff were miserable, unwelcoming and did not smile. Advised that although we had paid taxes and fees, there was another, in their words 'Mandatory' tourist tax which gave you wifi everyday. In other words, this was their way of charging for the wifi even...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
