This hotel is at an excellent location, right in Manhattan, couple minutes from subway station, walking distance from Times Square, right at Korean town. Easy access to most part of the city. Room size is decent in such an expensive big city. However, there are other issues. The HVAC system is very nosy whenever it kicks in to warm up the room. There is gap at the room door that whenever your neighbors close the door, the loud noise will definitely wake you up. The windows quality aren’t great that you can hear people screaming from the street or sirens from emergency vehicles in the middle of the night. The front desk staff are friendly but the staff standing by the door never greets customers. The hotel is safe and clean in general. There is no microwave or fridge in the room. If you need a microwave, it is available for rent at $20/stay.

Very friendly staff. We stayed 5 nights over Christmas. They managed to get us a low floor room from an email request which was very helpful. First impressions of the room are that it was quite old fashioned in terms of the furniture and decor, but over time we liked it as it was very comfy. No noise from other rooms even though there were guests in them.
Iron and ironing board in room, safety deposit box (although ours didn't work), hair dryer and tea / coffee facilities.

Staying at The hotel @ the fifth avenue was a very good experience. The personnel, from the front desk employees, to the cleaning personnel was really kind and always making an effort to make your stay more enjoyable. The room was clean and just right (not too big but not too tight) The 32nd street is noisy and full of Korean restaurants (full of persons that go to eat out everyday) but it's not a big deal. My rest there was as good as home. The hotel offers free coffee, tea and cold water and you can send packages with no charge as long as they arrive during the period of your stay.Last but not least, I've stayed in many hotels everywhere and it's the first time that the blackout curtains close well :-)The only 2 things that I did not like is that, 1) in my room, there was no light key close to the bed that allows me to shut down the light without leaving the bed and 2) The elevators take like forever to arrive (maybe the hotel was too crowdy, IDK). Anyway, I would definitely return to The hotel @ the fifth avenue in the future

The Hotel is located in a great area, only a short walk from the subway stations and not far from Times Square (but also not too close). We arrived 3 hours early and were checked into our room straight away, a guy in the lobby also gave us a map of the city and marked the hotel on there for us.

The room wasn't huge but it was more than enough space for us. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room, as well as free tea and coffee plus a fitness room in the basement. The hotel provides free WiFi, and the lobby also has computers and a printer for you to use.

During our stay there were issues with the hot water, however this was resolved within the same day and the hotel also refunded us for the facilities fee, even though this was only a minor inconvenience.

Our experience was extremely positive with the Hotel at Fifth Avenue, and this will definitely be our first choice when we visit next time!

The hotel is very nice with friendly staff. Our room was clean and with large and really comfortable beds. The location is perfect. Near the subway and almost near Time square and Empire State building.
We got as well breakfast, at an other place, which was good for us. (one fruit, one drink and a pastry). In the hotel you have free tea and coffee. We were very suprised by the quality of the hotel while the price per night was not that high.

The location does everything: in Koreatown, just next to Times Square, it's very nice to visit and discover New York, even just by walking. However, the rooms were deceiving. The entrance looks amazing, very modern but it's very different in the rooms: super small, furniture looking old, not cozy and reassuring...

The location was awesome, even staying at 32nd St we could walk around Manhattan and visit all the places we wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful when asked. Rooms are nice but the opening of the windows is not allowed, and that makes the air really dry and hard do breathe.

This hotel has always been a bargain for my January trips to NYC, but less so now - because of the "resort fee," which apparently is a device gaining favor with NYC hotel operators, as you can learn by Googling the term. When you reserve on line, look closely at the "Reservation Details." (I didn't.) I reserved at a room price of $96.39 per night, but the bill came to $148.17 per night. $15 of that (14.75%) is the familiar NYC and NYS taxes, but the other $40 is the hotel's "resort tax," for which the guest receives "free" telephone service, wi-fi access, use of the "Business Center," and use of the "Fitness Center." None of which have I any need or desire to use. (I have a cell phone with data included, and when I am in NYC I walk a lot.) Caveat emptor.

The hotel is no doubt in a very central position- with a subway just at the end of the street it’s incredibly easy to get from A to B.

The reception area in the hotel and the rooftop bar have been refurbed nicely which creates a good impression upon arrival. Unfortunately the rooms were not up to scratch. Of course we didn’t expect a lot as we had got a good deal for the hotel. The room was very small, the decor was very dated and the noise from the street below (we stayed on the second floor) was absolutely awful! The bed was a good size and was very comfortable and it was great to get clean towels every day.

I agree with other reviews about the attitude of the reception staff. There was a female member of staff who was particularly rude and really didn’t start off our stay on the best note. The concierge man was a great help and the bar staff on the rooftop were brilliant so it wasn’t all bad.

When I go back to New York, I’ll not be staying at this hotel- the rooms were just too dated and small for me but we did have a really good trip!

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, andrews551. While were glad you enjoyed our prime location and great rooftop bar, your experience is not up to the quality and standard we usually provide for our guests. Its unfortunate you had such challenges with our staff and that our accommodations failed to exceed your expectations. We hold ourselves to a much higher caliber of service so well be sure to discuss your concerns moving forward. We do hope you allow us another opportunity to share a more positive experience with you soon. Kucuk Bag Hotel Manager

Hold! If I understand you correctly the hotel is for everyone. We saw adults and children there. We paid before we arrived so I would think that you pay in full when you arrive and you pay the tax then too. There is a tourist tax. I can't remember how much but per person per night. You should ask the hotel when you book. I think it is 15%.
