Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was on my way home from a Nevada road trip and my plan was to stay the night in Cedar City. It was a Thursday, so I didn't expect there to be any problems finding a room. However, it was graduation weekend from SUU, and whatever rooms were available were going for a hefty price. Luckily I stopped at Clarion Inn and Suites. I was able to grab one of the last king bed suites for an acceptable price. The room was exceptionally nice and clean. I loved the shower because it had a curtain rod that curved outward, so I wasn't even close to brushing up against the shower curtain (I hate doing that!) The bed was really comfy and I enjoyed the large TV. There was a fridge and microwave and lots of space. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We had 2 rooms next to each other. The rooms were good, AC worked and ran all the time due to the heat outside. We had 2 queen beds a little on the hard side but overall ok. They advertise full hot breakfast but give you a small blueberry or banana muffin and a sausage egg muffin to heat up in your room, with juice and coffee. The swimming pool is inside and is nice but on the cold side. The hot tub was nice but the jets don't work. You have to get a key card at the front desk to access the pool. Room cards don't work. In the 3 days we were there we had to get our room cards redone 5 times because they quit working. Areas around the hotel are starting to show their age. The large garbage cans in the back weren't emptied at all during our stay and were full to overflowing. They have a small workout room upstairs with 1 treadmill, stepping machine and a few weights. Overall it is an OK hotel to stay in.

This is a newly but cheaply renovated old motel that is literally down the road to several new hotels of comparable pricing when I booked my stay. Unfortunately the pics provided online did not reveal this and I felt duped when I pulled into property. Guest room entrance and bathroom doors had dirt and scuff marks half way up, bathroom ceiling was already bubbling and pealing near the fan. The paper room card holder had clearly been reused with worn edges, folds and a white dot sticker so the room number could be relabeled. If management would reuse something so small and cheap without any good way to sanitize in between guests, you have to wonder where else they cut corners in sanitation and cleanliness.

When we checked into our room, we found a pair of dirty underwear by the bed! It was very obvious they didn't vacuum the room nor cleaned it very thoroughly. And this is during the covid pandemic!!! The bed sheets and the towels had stains on them, not very clean at all. The hotel staff is quite rude, too. The housekeeping will bang on your door at 9 am every day, even on your check-out day, making it impossible to have a peaceful morning. They are not serving ANY breakfast, not even a "grab and go" like most hotels do at the moment. Instead, they turned the breakfast area into a space where the staff and their families can eat. The "Bistro" is also not functioning. Nothing except the pool was working, which was disgusting, and looked dirty, the water was very murky, like it wasn't changed in forever. All in all, not worth your money! Stay anywhere else!

Imagine a hotel that was built more than 20 years ago, from cheap materials, it is really a motel, and isn’t really well-maintained. That’s this place. It blows my mind to go to travelers choice award for 2020. It is not my choice.

Here’s the good. The first room I went into had sticky stuff all over the table and two Band-Aids stuck to the remote control. I walked the remote control into the lobby and showed them to the front desk. The staff was appropriately dismayed and put me in a new room. The new room was a little better than the old one, but still it’s a pretty dingy place. The beds are fine, they don’t look like they’re super clean, but in the end it was a comfortable place to stay. The TV worked, the water was warm, and all in all things were great.

Here’s the bad. This is just an old hotel that’s been beat the heck. So many things look bad when you walk in that you kind of are grossed out. Things like the wood on the door trim is being eaten away by water in time. Repairs need to be done on Fossetts and hardware. Tiny pillows, and really just a lack of attention to detail. Things just weren’t that clean and weren’t that good. They also took advantage of Covid being a thing not to serve a hot breakfast which I understand. However there was no breakfast. Breakfast went from 6 to 9, and I walked in the lobby at 8:40 to try to get some fruit. Nothing. Not even juice.

In the end I don’t think this is a four-star hotel or a three star hotel or even maybe a two star hotel. Well it’s not the end of the world and people were shot in the hotel, it is definitely not a place I’m going to go after again.

We arrived at a few minutes after 3 pm since check in is at 3. They told us our room wouldnt be ready until 3:30. We had an engagement at 4 pm that we needed to get ready for, so we ran to get a bite to eat and returned at 3:30. Our room was ready. We ran in, got ready for our engagement and left just before 4 pm. I had noticed there was a sign in the lobby that said they had a flood, so amenities were closed -- pool, hot tub, fitness, etc. We were disappointed because we hoped to relax in the hot tub at the end of the night. Since we knew the pool was closed, we got a quick bite to eat after our engagement and came back to the hotel around 10. By the time, we got changed and ready for bed, it was around 10:45. We tried to turn on the TV and it didn't work. We called the front desk and the sweet young lady came up to try to help us. She could not get it to work, so no TV, no pool, no hot tub. The next morning we got up and I showered. The tub filled up with water and would not drain. YUCK. Needless to say, we were disappointed. The sweet girl who tried to fix our TV offered us a 10% discount for the inconvenience. When I spoke to the front desk clerk in the morning, she had nothing to say.

This is one of the worst places I ever stayed at. Where do I begin. First there was issue with key card not working twice during my stay. Then the room only had 1 washcloth for 3 guests, tried calling the front desk no one answered it just rang everytime I called. Had to go and get more washcloths and I was told the phones in some of the rooms were not working properly. So fix it. Then I find out housekeeping is every third day. Wish they would put that on their website. Broken ice machine on the second floor I was on, had to go downstairs to get ice. The staff was cold, unfriendly and not welcoming even the manager. I will not recommend or stay at this location again.

We checked in and found out that the restaurant is closed due to COVID. That was disappointing...... When we went to the room we tried the wifi and found it to be open/public and not secure. We made a comment online about it. The main desk immediately called their IT tech and fixed the problem. It was an awesome response.

The room was very clean and quiet - even with people in the room above us. We would probably stay there again if in the area.

We were traveling from Las Vegas north, on Valentines day never thinking every hotel would be booked from Las Vegas to Cedar City. Arriving in Cedar City and having had nothing but good experiences in the past with choice hotel properties, we stopped at the clarion just off the freeway. We were greeted warmly by the front desk lady, Kim. We explained our situation and although she was busy (cleaning up a mess from a flood in the building from days previous) she dropped everything to help us. She got us booked into a room, 223, which she went and finished cleaning for us right then!! apparently the maid on duty had gone home sick or something, and although it wasn't her job, she went and finished cleaning the room for us!!! I was super impressed!!! I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely recommend dealing with Kim if possible. The only down side to this hotel was the night clerk who came on after Kim, she was very standoffish and rude. Never at the desk and it appeared watching tv in the back room.
