We were driving and just happened on this gem. Right in downtown. Reminded me of Denver's oldest and best hotel The Brown Palace except we could afford it. Yes the bathroom in our room could do with an update but the room, bed, pillows, duvet, towels etc... and view was great. The bar with its Tiffany glass dome installed in...

Maybe it has gone downhill since our visit? Perhaps we just had fortunate timing and scored a decent room? It wasn't outstanding - but the location and the price were too good not to book. It was fine, secure (you and your car) and fairly comfy. Although checkin / checkout wasn't smooth, they were friendly enough and talked a lot...

This hotel is no longer the Camino Real but named the Hotel El Paso. The lobby and bar are magnificent and save the experience. The hotel hasn't been renovated in a long time and it is very, very tired. The staff is even more tired. A good location for downtown El Paso but not sure I would go back.

Avoid if possible. The bar area is beautiful the rest of the hotel is old and run down, especially the bathrooms. The lighting was horrible in both the room and the bath. The rate is low for a reason it goes back to you get what you pay for. The desk staff were totally uninterested in anything the involved looking...

The Camino Real has new owners and is in the midst of both a renovation and a name change. Knowing that it was being renovated, and having gotten a rate of only $77/night, my wife and I were expecting the worst when we arrived for a night's stay this week. But even now the Hotel has charm and you can...

We enjoyed just about everything about our stay in this historic gem in downtown El Paso. The lobby and restaurant/bar is simply stunning. Even if you don't stay here, walk inside just to see this. The people working the desk were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and overall welcoming. Our room was large and clean, though didn't feel very historic. Our view...

This review is a little late, but I I just realized I had never done one--when I heard an ad on the radio for Camino Real Hotel I realized I had to warn people. About a year ago my bridesmaids and I chose to stay at this hotel the night before our spa day. We booked the hotel using Travelocity...

Room was ready on time and clean. Staff was slightly disinterested in life or there vocation? But all in all, no complaints. Just feel like with only a little effort it could be a great spot. History, architecture, decent restaurant.

This hotel is a mix of good and bad. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to a lot of local bars, restaurants, local attractions, shops, and plazas. The hotel restaurant Huerta Cafe has good food, and the hotel has a very beautiful bar area. I could even see in Juarez from my hotel window. The hotel itself is...

What a fantastic experience we had yesterday at the Camino Real Hotel for their Thanksgiving Buffet. The food was beyond excellent, service was outstanding, great value for money, no cooking or clean up! We are most definitely going to do this again. So much food to choose from, the whole turkey thing, plus prime rib, shrimp, Mexican dishes, salmon, steak,...
