The only reasons for four stars and not five was due to the disinterested front desk person we encountered when we arrived early for our check in. Thankfully, the person who replaced him later in the afternoon when we were told to come back for our room (Joyce) was outstanding.

The Independent Hotel was a wonderful little surprise. The Guest Services Manager, and all staff I encountered during my stay, went above and beyond to meet our needs. They were all super friendly and helpful. The hotel, and my room, were all beautifully decorated; the lobby

Just a quick business trip but everything was such a breeze with this hotel. This was my first time staying there. Easy booking (great value for the price), easy checkin, love the free breakfast, very clean and updated interior. And great central location.

I booked the Locust suite for a 2 night stay at the beginning March. I wanted to love this hotel, and I ignored some of the lower reviews citing noise and dirtiness as picky customers. First, if you are not planning to party until 2:00 am do not chose this hotel. It is on an

Your review provides a humbling call to action for me and my team. I regret that I missed the chance to meet you and intervene personally when you brought the issues to the attention of our team. The presence of glass in the first place is categorically unacceptable, and I am embarrassed that this was the condition of your room upon arrival along with the items under bed. Regardless of the number of people on the reservation our standard is to have both the murphy bed and sofabed freshly made and ready for use. There is no excuse for this, nor for the failure to immediately rectify those conditions or provide sufficient amenities for three people as listed on the reservation. Please know that your experience will serve as a learning moment for us all. I have emailed you directly to further the conversation.

I stayed there overnight in May and had no problem at all with noise from the street. It did not appear to be a busy street. I think there is a pub-style restaurant at the corner of the building but there wasn't noise from that, either. I slept perfectly well. No doubt the hotel has air-conditioning----in May, I didn't need to find out about that----and if so, you can keep the windows shut to avoid hearing anything that might make noise in the street.

Our Lobby is Located on the second floor and unfortunately the elevator is the only access to get to the lobby area. You can use the side steps, it's for exit only, However to come in you will have to call the desk first and we will make sure to open it for you.
