The hotel looks and feels like a mid range motel. Its location on the water may be appealing to some - but I found it underwhelming. Upon visiting the town, I realized that hotels closer to the downtown core would have been a better choice. This one isnt terribly far - but is on one end of the riverwalk, while...

I have stayed at this hotel several times because I love being on the water over the marina. Always before I have purchased a Groupon for a real deal. This last trip I paid full price, which was WAY TOO MUCH. When we arrived at our room we noticed it was one with a balcony that has not been replaced....

I don't know if our bad room was due to booking online or that is what all the rooms are like. Bed was lumpy. Linens poor. I refused to use the stained pillows. My husband tried to upgrade our room but was told we couldn't. Strange because the hotel was almost empty. Front desk was rude. Breakfast poor. Only thing...

The front desk was helpful over the phone and it sounded like our type of motel. We had a clean/quit room with an excellent view of the boat harbor which we appreciated. A harbor seal and ducks swam around and we had a sliding door to set on and enjoy the view and fresh air. The staff made sure we...

This is the first time we have stayed at this particular motel in Astoria. This is an old establishment that needs updating. The rooms are VERY PLAIN, old tv, remote was a pain in the you know what to use (didn't work right)...beds were comfortable but the bottom sheets did not fit and there was one very thin cover between...

Nice view. Room fine. Advertised free wi-fi, but not available. Only 4 channels on an old TV. Can walk to town, on trolley line. Bridge is nice. In process of remodeling so perhaps will improve. No bedspreads...kinda weird. Like the town, so good choice.

I wound up on my first trip to Astoria while on tour with my band RIN TIN TIGER. We played at a local brewery that put us up at the Riverwalk Inn as part of the deal for playing and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay. In fact, we enjoyed our first night so much we inquired about...

First time to visit Astoria. We got a reasonable price from groupon. Very nice hotel staff though and bikes, movies, games to borrow for free. Pet-friendly. The room was not bad with the great view and private balcony. Ice-maker machine was not working at that time.

Great view, great room, great service, fantastic price. Don't let the plainness of the exterior fool you! Get a corner room if possible as they're big. Breakfast was simple but plenty. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in town! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccccccc cc ccxxxxxxxxxx. Cc. C.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
