Looks simple from the street, but the lobby and public areas are perfectly restored to an earlier time in history. Our river view room was spacious and comfortable. You might find a fancier place but you won't find a more beautiful building. Staff were gracious and helpful in so many ways: directions, restaurant recommendations, linen service, etc. Only steps from...

Stayed here as a special evening out, in honor of our 24th anniversary and her 54th birthday. Room was nice with balcony overlooking part of River Street. Reception desk and Bellhop all cordial and pleasant. Noise started at 7:30a the next morning - banging pipes, moving chairs around, opening and slamming doors - all in the hallway right outside the...

We enjoyed our quick one night stay at the River Street Inn. We arrived on a rainy evening and were met in the parking lot by a very nice valet who immediately assisted with our bags. The front desk staff was helpful and our room was on the river side even though we did not pay extra for the upgrade....

I decided that wife and I could visit Savannah for Valentine's Day. I wanted something more than just an ordinary hotel room. River Street Inn meet my expectations. We arrived late Monday evening and were immediately assisted by the hotel staff. Check in was a breeze. I had opted for a king bed with balcony facing river. Seems like 12...

Thank you so much for your kind review! Always wonderful when our guests sing our praises! When our building was constructed 200 years ago, the balconies were intended for overseeing the workers on the docks below, not for leisure. Since we're on the National Historic Register, we cannot change or modify them. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Delightful, historic in directly fronting River Street Inn. Beautifully decorated, with rooms so close to the river that they view of the huge ships passing by is incredible. Very friendly staff. No restaurant in the end, but one next-door and serval within walking distance. Would recommend Vic's on The River for either lunch or dinner. River Street Inn has a...

Thank you for your review. We're happy you appreciate our 200 year old building. Although we do not own or operate our own restaurant, we have 4 restaurants within our building that lease their space from us and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Since parking in our Historic District is limited, we pay the City of Savannah approximately $10,000 per...

We stayed here for a night and we're pleased with the overall experience. We first noticed that it is very centrally located. Arriving at dusk we found it to be a little difficult to locate, obviously not knowing the area. Once we located the Inn parking was difficult to figure out but a wonderful employee was a great help in...

From checking in with friendly Andrew to watching the sun come up over the river, we loved staying at the River Street Inn--we just wished we had more time to stay there a few more days. I had read where people thought that the layout of the rooms was difficult and the same for the parking. We did not have...

Thank you so much for your kind review and for acknowledging Andrew! It's wonderful when our guests appreciate our 200 year old building with it's unique quirks! The hotel was built within the former cotton warehouse, not from the ground up, so it definitely represents the epitome of Historic Savannah! Please come back to visit us again soon!

This was our 3rd visit to beautiful Savannah, Ga., and 3rd time staying at River Street Inn. This historical building has modern amenities tucked in amongst beautiful and original brick and wood interiors. The rooms are neatly appointed and offer the conveniences of today's traveller. We always stay on the river side with outstanding balcony views. Situated directly below, are...

Found this place on hotels.com on our way home from florida. The people were friendly and the location was great. We got to savannah around 4:30 checked in and enjoyed complimentary wine on the porch facing the river in rocking chairs. The rooms were clean and plenty of places to walk to. There are bars and food and shopping that...

This hotel is over 150 years old and that's what we were looking for. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful, with directions, and recommendations for sites and dining. Right on the river, you can feel the history. We stayed for 3 nights and we walk everywhere. Can't wait to return.

Thank you for your kind review. Actually, our building is celebrating 200 years this year, having been built in 1817. We're thankful you appreciated it's unique qualities as much as we do! We look forward to your return!
