If you want to stay out of downtown, I would certainly recommend the Samuel Sewall Inn. Brookline and Coolidge Corner are a great part of Boston. Quiet, good restaurants, interesting shops, a diverse (for Boston) mix of people, and easy access to downtown. The Inn itself is very nice with large rooms, comfortable beds, and a helpful and friendly staff....

We just spent 2 nites at this Band B which I had researched extensively thanks to trip advisor....The location was excellent ...a short block to the T and a couple of blocks to the hustle and bustle of harvard st and beacon st.. The front desk is manned from about 7:30 am to 9:30p, so check in during those hrs,.The...

Was visiting my son in Jamaica Plains, so Brookline is very close. Nice staff, very accomodating. Its right off Brookline Ave., so its very convenient to public transportation, and walking distance to center of Brookline. Rooms are large and very interesting- parking available if you have a car. Its in a very interesting area, condusive to walking even in December....

We stayed at the [-] in Boston in early October just for the one night. The building was lovely, the decor was very nice, traditional, and in keeping with the character of the Inn. The bedding was complimentary to the decor and the ambience of the room was very good. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The only down side:...

We found this b&b online, and weren't sure what to expect, but we loved it. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the breakfasts were always fresh, with baked goodies and egg dishes, and the room was like a quiet getaway for us on our otherwise hectic trip. It was nice to come in after a long day and take a...

After comparing prices for hotels in the area I decided to try a B&B. I was pleasantly surprised how right at home I felt after walking through the doors of The Samuel Sewall Inn. It was quite lovely. It was real nice how the guests could gather in the living room and chat all night. I felt like I was...

I had booked a room across the street at the Bertram Inn, but was actually lodged at the Samuel Sewall, which is under the same ownership. I have no complaints about the switch. My four nights at this B&B were wonderful. It's just one block from the St. Paul Street stop of the MBTA Green Line trolley/subway (Cleveland Circle branch),...

I have been a regular guest at The Samuel Sewall Inn since mid February and couldn’t be happier! The Inn keepers are very hospitable… the rooms (and beds) are very comfortable… clean… and well kept. The FULL breakfast is always fresh… well prepared… varies every day… and is not your typical “muffin & coffee”. This is one of the more...

After browsing their website and paying a higher rate than most B&B's in the area, I have to say I was suprisingly disappointed. The website mentions several amenities including luxury items which I did not see. The pictures of the rooms posted online were much nicer than in person. As a matter of fact, the room I reserved based on...

“While we had the same room for two different stays, we did see some of the other rooms which were also very nice. We had a basic queen size room which was perfect for my husband and myself.”

“Room 4, a corner room on the ground floor, is very nice and has a window air-conditioning unit and a floor fan that were perfect for keeping the room cool. There is a working fireplace for winter that I'm sure would create a very cozy atmosphere. This standard room worked well as a single; it might be a bit small for a double as there is no closet and I used convenient hooks on the wall with hangers for my clothes. I saw the other three rooms on the ground floor and they are all quite a bit bigger.”
