Came to the Inn at the Olde Silk Mill for an appreciation dinner. We arrived extremely early so the innkeeper invited us to sit in the parlor to have coffee and cookies as we waited. Quaint and friendly place. At the appropriate time we crossed the courtyard to the building behind the Inn where the event was being held. The...

Damaged ceilings, broken window blinds, and a strong musty odor are the highlights of this inn. Staff was attentive when on alone, but when 2 or 3 staff were near each other, they were so involved in personal discussion aka gossip that it was hard to get their attention. Rooms are either cramped and uncomfortable or barren. Breakfast is cold...

Unfortunately we've stayed here one other evening years ago and hoped it would be better the second time around...we were wrong. With no other hotel options for the night we gave in. Dirty floors, no hot water, no cool air (our room was boiling) and windows that have been painted shut definitely is enough to have me counting down the...

If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not for you. We stayed here for two nights. The Inn on the outside is quaint, the grounds are clean. The moment you walk in the door it will remind you of the past. The staircase greeted us. The decor grand elegance. The innkeeper was very knowledgeable and polite. The...

For a B&B at this price I was expecting well appointed rooms, and a lovely breakfast. What we got was old 20" televisions, a shower from 1970 and a breakfast that was anything but lovely. Breakfast was cereal, bagels in a bag, packaged danish and some fruit in a basket. Certainly not what one would expect from a B&B. No...

Stayed at the Inn for 2 nights while attending wedding festivities. The Inn is quite old, but with lots of charm. To note are squeaky floors, thin walls, low water pressure and it took a few minutes for hot water in the shower (there is a note in the bathroom informing us of this)...all expected when staying in a historical...

We wanted to stay somewhere charming for our trip to Fredericksburg. This looked great. When you pick antique you get antique, the beds creak and squeak the walls were paper thin. I could hear people snoring in the next room, walking above me and climbing in creaky beds. There was a wedding going on and they took all the parking....

I like to stay within walking distance of the historic district of the town, but not pay exorbitant prices. This hotel fit the bill. It is a historic silk mill that is within walking distance of the historic part of town and the river. You can even walk the route that the Union soldiers took up the hill to the...

Hard to review this property because its not your usual hotel accommodations. It is historic and decorated with antiques and antique replicas and the décor is a little outdated being in the maroon and gold colors. We had the parlor room with a queen bed in the bedroom and a separate room with a small couch and tv. The queen...

The Inn is lovely, historic, and well-preserved with friendly staff. My only quibble is traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast was ample, with delicious scones! Easy to find in the Historic District.
