While the room was nicely decorated (though rotting board panel in sitting room) and definitely clean and the AC worked, we booked this for our 20th wedding anniversary as a romatic getaway--big mistake. Our suite was actually two rooms linked by a washroom, overlooked the back hall which was having some sort of afternoon event with the porta potty directly...

I bought the deal on groupon and thought it would be a nice romantic weekend. How very wrong! First, I tried to confirm my reservation (and ask some questions about the free dinner) 3 days beforehand, but no one picked up the phone or responded to my voicemail message or email. Then, the night before our stay, we get a...

I really liked the "olden day" feel of the place that started with the owners standing behind the check-in desk with warm smiles on their faces. They literally handed us a key from a pigeon-holed wall cabinet after an easy, hassle free check-in. When was the last time that happened? The interior was a mix or antiques from different periods,...

Had a very nice stay for an overnight getaway . Property was located at the top of the historic district, making for a nice walking loop of the town. Property was very clean and staff (Anne) was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

We spent a lovely weekend in Fredricksburg. We chose the Inn for its reasonable rates, easy parking, and easy walk to quaint downtown Fredricksburg. The Inn itself has a cute period-style interior but the exterior is hardly charming compared to the true historic district. Nevertheless, the rooms are well-kept, the Innkeepers are easygoing and breakfast is good -- although a...

The Inn at the Olde Silk Mill is a sheep in wolfs clothing. From the outside it looks like a (nice) motel acorss the street from a Hardees, but you can't choose your neighbors. On the inside, this warm and cozy Inn is beautifully appointed with rooms brimming with charm and extremely comfortable beds. If you pass this place up...

We went to the Olde Silk Mill thinking we were in for a lovely, romantic getaway. Not the case. The Inn is more of a motel than anything. The decor is tired an not authentic. The drop ceilings are not my idea of a victorian bed and breakfast. Our room overlooked the parking lot, and our view was of a...

We are very sorry you were disatified with your visit to our Inn. I do wish you would of notified us of your concerns so we could of assigned you a room more suitable to your taste. The Inn was built in 1930, and not all of the rooms have high Victorian Ceilings. Most of our rooms are done in...

It was very nice and clean. Both of my interactions with the front desk were VERY nice. When we checked in on Saturday night, the guy was very comprehensive. There was a "continental breakfast" that was included, which we missed. The room not an exterior entrance, but you do have to go outside to get there. The bed (Queen) was...

The Inn at Olde Silk Mill was my first B&B experience. I'm in my mid-twenties, so my review may be a little different than others. My spouse and I didn't really know what to expect. We pulled up, and my husband thought I was joking due to the location being across the street from a Hardee's. He had thought it...

My husband and I have both traveled extensively, and we have only stayed in one other hotel room that was as nice as our room at the Inn. And that room was in Venice! We stayed in the King Edward room which is on the ground floor and has a king size bed. The room was very large, clean, lovely...
