If you’re searching for authentic hotels in Fairbanks, Alaska, look no further. A subsidiary of Princess Cruises, the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge is the answer! Fairbanks was founded by miners consumed with the gold fever that swept Alaska at the turn of the century. As gateway to Alaska’s rugged interior, Fairbanks is where the real Alaska begins — the Alaska of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun. Here, at the edge of Alaska’s vast wilderness frontier, is a haven of warm service and exceptional comfort — the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. The most refined hotel in Fairbanks, Alaska is also its best situated. Ideally located just minutes from the Fairbanks International Airport and Alaska Railroad depot. The property is also convenient to the downtown area and the University of Alaska Fairbanks as well as popular attractions such as the El Dorado Gold Mine, the Riverboat Discovery, and Pioneer Park.

We were on a Princess CruseTour. We arrived in Fairbanks at 10:20 pm on a flight that Princess arranged. We had to sit around the airport until 11:45 pm for our transportation to the hotel. We checked in and went to our room. It was very disappointing, it was dark and dirty.

Very nice hotel. Very nice staff. Restaurant was excellent. If you go, be sure to get out on the deck overlooking the water. Also, take advantage of a trip into town and walk around there. There is lots to see there.

We had a nice room with a good view. We were satisfied with the general food service, but the room was great. We had to walk a fair distance to get to the lobby which could be a problem for some people. The staff was very friendly.

It’s only a very short drive from the Lodge to the airport. Lodge runs a regular shuttle. Check with the tour desk for times.

I would say yes, likely behind or in the closet near guest services just a few steps away from the check-in counter.

Is the parka waterproof?
And the 'queens' at this hotel sleep more like doubles in my opinion....Our two teen daughters (one average size, one quite small) were not very comfortable in the bed. My husband and I were quite uncomfortable in ours...but tired enough that we still slept 'ok.'
