The Westmark Fairbanks is a "healthy walk" from the main area of town. The hotel and the room are clean and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable and we had a refrigerator, TV, coffee pot, and free WiFi available. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food in...More
Just there for one night. The restaurant looked very nice. As soon as we arrived we hired a car service to take us to the North Pole.
When arrived back we went to bed and was woken up by our tour host that the northern...More
We stayed here for the initial part about f our land tour with Holland America. It was an old hotel that needs some refurbishing. If it wasn’t for the land portion starting there, it would not have been my first choice. We did have some...More
I would never return to this hotel. The rooms are noisy, and the two hotel restaurants get completely overwhelmed with the tourist crowds coming in. They don’t know how to handle crowds who are filtered through via the cruise land/sea packages.
We stayed one night as part of our Princess land/sea cruise. I believe that this hotel is used for these types of packages on a daily basis. The hotel itself was like a tale of two cities. The downstairs lobby, restaurant and gift shop areas...More

I suggest visiting Chena Hot Springs...there is a tour van that will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. You can see moose and maybe a bear along the way. Bring your swim suit. The food at the hot springs is quite good. Another good tour is the Riverboat Discovery...you can take a cab or there is likely a bus that swings by the hotel to pick up guests for the boat trip on the Chena River. Pioneer Park (aka Alaska-Land) is free and quite interesting -- there is a riverboat, a Native village, shops, cafes, places for a picnic. The University of Alaska Museum is a first class attraction too.

We stayed in the North Tower, which is where our cruise line (Holland America) booked us. Not sure how it relates to the other tower but overall very disappointed with this hotel and not up to other standards booked by Holland America. Breakfast EXPENSIVE, with few choices and poor quality. We arrived late in the day and one couple in our party was checked in to a room that had not been cleaned with vomit in the toilet. Management totally non-responsive to our complaints.
