My husband and I stayed at The Missing Lantern in Suite #4 last week. We were there for 8 days. It was exactly what we had expected. I had called the office 1 week prior just as requested on the reservation. They had told us that no one would be there upon our arrival since it was after hours so...

BE FOREWARNED -- you are renting a room that is a room without any services whatsoever. No reception, no phone, no alarm clock... no maps... Nothing.. The first thing that put me off was there were 5 Schlage keypad locks to get into the room -- that should tell you something ab out the neighborhood (Bedford Stuyvessant, not the gentrified...

So....when you book with this place, what you don't know is that the address listed is not the address you may be staying. Not until we received our confirmation did we get the address where we were actually staying, which was quite a ways from 1156 Dean Street (the address on the web site). I am very comfortable in Brooklyn...

My husband and I pulled up and were a bit leary of the neighborhood, we were just getting bags out of the car when we were approached by a creepy looking man. We decided for our safety it was wise to NOT stay here! We had to go into Manhattan at 5pm on a Friday night and pay top dollar...

Great location and fabulous price for a New York hotel! Customer service was impeccable. Clean, unique, cute hotel. The only draw back was we wanted to sleep four people and although the bed was big the pull out couch was really only for one person!

I used to stay at the hotels in Manhattan when I visited NYC. Because of Hurricane Sandy, this time I chose the hotel in Brooklyn instead. This actually was my first time staying in the Missing Lantern. I was very pleased with my stay. This place is much spacious and economical compared to the hotels in Manhattan. I feel very...

I choose the Missing Lantern because of it's uniqueness and it's location. I had an event at Barclay's Arena in Brooklyn. The location is close to the subway at Nostrand and Fulton which comes out right near Atlantic (Barclays Arena). The subway station at Nostrand and Fulton (Which also goes into Manhattan) is a colorful 6 block walk. Nostrand avenue...

I have friends who live in the area and when we went up for an overnight visit, they recommended the Missing Lantern as a place to stay (they didn't have room for all four of us to crash with them). My friend made the reservation and was in constant communication with the owners, which was good. The day before we...

Soiled sheets and cockroaches awaited us! My husband, my 5 year old son and myself. We spent $173 for a sofa that didn't even have sheets...let alone pull out. AC window unit that made a loud noise all night. A fan in the nook of a bedroom. We had to lay the child on towels because the sheets had blood...
