My brother and I went to Granite Park Chalet for two nights in early August. We decided to take the Chalet shuttle in from West Glacier as were worried about parking on Logan Pass. We had a great hike in on Highline trail where we saw some Bighorn sheep blocking the trail. After arriving at the chalet, we were shown...

Granite Park is located at a perfect location along the Highline Loop. It is just under 8 miles from the Logan Point Visitor center and offers the ideal overnight for continuing out over the Swiftcurrent pass (recommended) or returning on the next day on an easy hike down to the Loop parking lot. It is more of a high-end hiker’s...

Stayed 2 nights at the chalet and had the most phenomenal time. Was one of five for a girls' trip. Staff was incredible! Immediate access to potable water was a pleasant surprise, as wasn't clear from website.

Having spent a couple of nights earlier in the week at Sperry Chalet, I can compare the experiences. Both are wonderful options for back country lodging. Granite Park is a smaller, more rustic experience than Sperry. No electricity or hot water - to get here you will have hiked in. We pre-ordered our food - which each guest party cooks...

Our family rented an RV and headed out west to see our National Parks. My daughter and I hiked the Loop Trail which is 4.5 miles and strenuous. Take your time, stay hydrated and enjoy the view. We never saw a bear, but were prepared with our bear spray. I am not a hiker, but a walker, and as a...

We recently spent two nights at Granite Park Chalet. These two nights were the culmination of months of planning, which was well worth the effort. Granite Park Chalet, and Sperry Chalet, open their reservation system for bookings sometime in January (the date is announced on their website) Everything is usually booked in about 15 minutes, but don't despair, some people...

Make your reservations the January prior to the season you want to visit - it's not cheap, but it is something you'll always remember. We hiked in to the historic Granite Park Chalet on the highline trail, and out on the swiftcurrent trail, stopping at the chalet for a night along the way. The chalet is only accessible by foot,...

We hiked to the Granite Park Chalet via The Loop Trail (~8.5 miles) and this was one of my favorite hikes I have ever been on! The Loop Trail had about a 2400 ft elevation gain and was moderately strenuous. One important thing to note: The trail has little to no cover from the sun, so make sure to use...

We hiked up (with our 16-month-old daughter) the Loop Trail and stayed at the chalet for a night before heading down the Swiftcurrent Trail. The views are absolutely amazing, and the staff is awesome. You can order food and linens so you don't have to pack up your own, and the kitchen was nice for hot meals. The rooms are...

Stayed here for 3 nights in August. Hiked in on the Highline Trail and hiked out on the Loop Trail. We also hiked up to the Swiftcurrent Lookout Tower, Swiftcurrent Pass, Grinnell Glacier Overlook, & Ahern Pass during our stay. The Staff were great. Rooms were small, but did not spend much time in them as we were out hiking...

“There are rooms in the main lodge and the little building referred to as the annex. All are very basic. Rooms are assigned when you make a reservation, to my knowledge there is no choice to make, the staff makes the assignments. There are rooms with several beds that can accommodate a small group.”

“Rooms 5 through 8 are the second level in the front of the main lodge- amazing views from the balcony (sunset), convenient to the lodge lobby/dining area but farthest from the toilets. Rooms 1 through 3 are the second level of the back of the main lodge- great views, convenient to the kitchen, but still a bit of a walk to the toilets. Rooms 15 through 18 are on the ground level and a bit of a walk to the main lodge, but are closest to the toilets. Rooms 19 & 20 are also at ground level and a bit further from the main lodge, but are still fairly close to the toilets.”
