This place is amazing! The history, the decor, the dining room the food, the staff, the rooms......everything was top-notch! I was traveling with a friend from out of state and didn't want run-of-the-mill accommodations, and this was the place. We arrived pretty late in the afternoon, which was perfect timing to check out the grounds and beach before freshening up... More

Very restful. No television, one phone and sporadic cell phone service. The rooms are small but comfortable. Bring a good book as there is a comfortable solarium as well as many nooks and crannies, inside and out, for reading. Eat in the dining room with spectacular Cree Indian/Art Deco design and the largest stone fireplace in the state. The food,... More

We read about the history of this property and were intrigued so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The service was warm and friendly and the food was outstanding. We all ordered burgers and they were some of the best we've had. The atmosphere was colorful, cozy and unique. We enjoyed a memorable lunch and would... More

We had a wonderful 2nd breakfast here. The cinnamon roll was huge and my husband enjoyed the oatmeal. The place was beautiful, and they have some nice local things in the gift shop. The service was good as well

My husband and I stopped in for our 10th anniversary lunch. The service was friendly and easy going and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The history of the lodge is a cool story and it is awesome how well the owners have preserved the lodge and its beautiful interior. The food was great...highly recommend the French onion soup on... This is a wonderful relaxing place to see the fall colors and see lake Superior which a few feet from the lodge. Good food, great hiking, and its great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors!! Many people miss this place because it 15 minutes past Grand Marais.

We had a great friends' getaway to the North Shore and especially enjoyed our stay at Naniboujou. With no TVs or internet/wifi, it was a truly relaxing and disconnected experience. Our room was cozy but clean and comfortable. The Sleep Number bed was a surprise, and the Murphy bed easy to take out and put back. Meals in the restaurant... More

We stopped here in the late afternoon - not realizing their hours are a little goofy and we had about 10 minutes to order if we wanted food. The staff was so friendly and willing to seat us and let us take our time with the menu and order food - having worked in the food industry I know how... More

My wife and I decided to visit the historic Naniboujou Lodge when we were staying in Silver Bay. The drive to the Lodge was beautiful along the Lake Superior shore. The Lodge itself is a unique architectural gem and the richly painted interior is breathtaking. Our dinner was good but rather expensive. This would be a great place for a... More
