Slept really poorly. Mattress was uncomfortable, room had sharp chemical-soap-like smell, climate control was very noisy.
Very cramped room, could hardly move around.
Very poorly insulated, it stormed outside and the breeze (with dust) came through the door. All noises also. I woke up exhausted....More
Stayed at the Stargazer this past weekend during my trip to Great Basin National Park - great place nestled far from everywhere. Kate and Jake (owners) are both super friendly, and the food at adjoining Kerouac’s was outrageously tasty. I’ll definitely be back.

The drive up to the visitor center where the astronomy program is held is about 5 miles away and is approximately a 7-8 minute drive. There are lights in Baker where we are located and minimal light up at the park but the drive will be dark with only illumination from the stars and the moon. Always a good idea to be alert as there could be wildlife on the road but it is a safe drive.
