I just cannot tell you enough how wonder these cabins are! I booked a stay and already booked another in December and again in April. Not only was the atmosphere truly what I want in a cabin retreat but Ruth Ann was a wonderful hostess. The cabins are clean, neat, smell good and comfortable. I enjoyed the quiet walks and... More

Ely's Mill is at the end of Roaring Fork Nature Trail road and a great place to stop. There is a shop withlocal honey, pottery, and other souvenirs along with some cold drinks for sale. We decided to stop and see if they had a cabin available since we were tired of camping. We stayed in the cabin next to the... More

We stayed at the Millside cabin in May of 2015 and had the most memorable stay in Gatlinburg we ever had, and we just got back from another stay this past May! I can't say enough about the cabin, the beautiful setting and the rich history that resides in the property itself, it's a unique experience that gives you a... More

A must see! This fabulous, unique property appears to be miles from civilization; however, it's about a mile from the Parkway in Gatlinburg and borders the National Park. The mill is full of functioning original weaving simple machines and tools. They offer a venue for weddings, and there are creek-side and mountain-side cabins for nightly/weekly rental. They also sell hand-made mountain... More

The people are very nice and a wealth of historical knowledge since they have been in the area for decades. The setting is spectacular. It is a must visit location at the end of the motor tour or a stay at one of the cabins would be an ideal location for hiking.

Stayed for two nights in the small cabin - Millside. The cabin is very clean and very warm (it was rather cool out when we visited). There were 4 adults - so two of us took the really comfortable king size bed and the other two took the pull out couch. All of us slept rather well. It is just... More

Hmm...almost hate to write a good review. Its such a great place, but with only 2 cabins, if it get's popular, I may not be able to get in next time! But, it deserves a good review, so it will get one. Arrival- got there after dark. On entering, there were home-baked treats on the dining room table (zucchini bread,... More

Stayed in the Smaller Cabin - Millside for four nights on a solo fishing trip. Huge space, perfect for one guy who has too much gear. Appreciated cable and wifi. Baked items were excellent, bed was very comfortable, kitchen and bath more than adequate. Wonderfully quiet at night but the isolated location can also feel risky when getting back late... More

We were married there in sept of 2012. When we went to look at the property, we were complete blown away by how perfect it was!! So much more scenic than the state park. The owner showed us around explaining the history and how long it was in her family. Getting married by the water, the photography opportunities were endless,... More

Excellent accomodations. Close enough to town to be convenient, yet far enough away that you're well removed from the mess that is Gatlinburg. Very easy access to the national park. I had the bigger of the two cabins. It was more like a cottage than a cabin. Two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, full well-stocked kitchen, great room with fireplace and large... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a historic old Mill within the city of Gatlinburg that has a retail shop and two overnight rentals. Millside cabin rents for $75/nite and Creekside is $125/nite. No smoking/no pets. We also are a wedding site and do a tours of the mill as time and personnel allow. Rich in natural beauty, tucked up against the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, with the Roaring Fork Creek running right through the middle of our land it is one of the last of the "Old Gatlinburg" sites around. Feels like you are a world away although downtown is just a mile down the road. ... more   less

“If close friends then Millside would work but Creekside may be better for those wanting privacy from the other couple. Millside is perfect for two folks or a small family (two adults and two children).”

“Only 2 cabins on this property. We stayed at the one across the creek from Ely's Mill, and that is the larger and more private cabin. I can't speak for the smaller cabin across the road from Ely's Mill, but, although I am certain it is nice, it would not be as private as our cabin was.”
