We stayed here early in December, 2012. Just 2 couples in the hotel and treated superbly. We occupied the heritage room and the open air bathroom was fantastic.

We also stayed at the Abad Turtle Beach for our final week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel restaurant does carry a limited supply of Kingfisher that can be purchased with the evening buffet (200r) but have no objection to taking your own in. It's virtually impossible to buy alcohol anywhere on a Sunday, so it's best to queue up at one of the drink outlets (Kingfisher large bottle 70r). It's a bit of a free for all and best to go with a taxi driver who knows his way around. Abad rooms have a small refrigerator to keep a few bottle cold. Nearest alcohol outlet on the main Kochi - Alleppey highway about 400yds south of the crossroads on the inland side. P.S. a half bottle of local gin, perfectly acceptable, was about 450r. Hope this helps
