This is a beautiful old style Indian Residency with lots of old Indian artefacts and furniture scattered about the property. Minnie was so lovely and tried to help with everything we needed (except giving us a room with a bath, which I had asked for)

Ok, first and foremost, YOU need to know that the municipality has decided a bypass (fly over) to deflect traffic. Where are they putting it???? On the beach road of course! So, this charming spot, full of colonial spirit and history will be 100 meters away from this atrocity. It shouldn't deter you to stay there but be prepared. Rooms...

We feel really sorry for this hotel because it's grounds and the adjoining beach have been overtaken by a huge construction site for a new flyover, adjacent to the hotel and will overshadow it when completed. We had booked 4 nights but only stayed 1. The one redeeming feature was the upstairs restaurant which served some quite outstanding south Indian...

.Enchanting jewel of a hotel located on the beech road in Alappuzha. Built in the 1860s for an English Dignitary, it has traditional dark wood furniture and very comfortable, spacious room with high ceiling. The swimming pool is in a lovely courtyard, framed by tropical plants and trees. The restaurant is open air, up a spiral staircase, with a view...

By accident we came to this beautiful oasis just on the beach road to have lunch. They serve chilled beer and really good food, the staff is super friendly and the ambience is awesome. We came the same day again for dinner.

Very beautiful building, rooms are very large, nice swimming pool, and very good restuarant. The beach across the street is a very big beach Indian style, no bathing suites, and unfortunately there is constructin going on in front of the building. Staff is very nice and helpful

We stayed at Raheem for 5 nights in January, and truly loved the amazing atmosphere, rooms and Ayurvedic treatments available. Only negative thing is the large amount of construction going on at the beach now. It can be quite noisy and is not pleasant to walk around in. Unfortunately it looks like the Indian government is building a road overpass...

Raheem Residency is a beautiful old bungalow that has been lovingly restored to its former glory by its owners. From the moment you arrive, the staff are very attentive and the service is good. The interior is stylish, decked out with antique dark wood furniture and decent artwork. The rooms have a calm and airy feeling about them. They are...

The hotel itself is beautiful but is let down by the location and the service. A flyover is being built right in front of the hotel which generates a lot of noise well into the evening and detracts a huge deal from the ambience. The food was ok and can you can get a beer here which is nice. The...

Raheem Residency at Alleppey Beach, one hour south of Cochin, is an 1868 colonial property which was passionately restored in a classic, Indian style in 2003 by a small Indo-European private limited company. It is now recognized by the Tourism Dept of India as a genuine Heritage Hotel of India. Originally built by an Englishman, it was the home of the Raheems, an eminent Alleppey family, for one hundred years.
