This place is just a must ! It is located in a beautiful surreal location away from all the chaos of Other places in Bali ! The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. I went for a yoga retreat- It is the perfect place for meditation and time for yourself. Would recommend to anyone and definitely go again.

Nirarta is in a stunning location. The staff are lovely as per my usual experience in Bali. Everything was fine, except.... The owner, Peter, was patronising, pompous and obtuse in his relations with me. He did many things to try to put me down, such as repeating what I had just said but with an inflection intended to belittle me.... More

Peter W, Owner at Nirarta, responded to this review

We appreciate Stuart's positive response to Nirarta's location and staff at Nirarta. However, his very personal and ad hominem critique of myself was both shocking and painful to read. I respect that what Stuart writes is an honest account of his experience, and I am very sorry that he should experience my communication in that way. I had no idea... More

Wow!!! What a lovely place. Everything from the impeccably manicured gardens to our enchanted bungalow was just what we dreamed it would be - inspiring, beautiful, great views, very clean and a spotless comfortable bed to read and luxuriate in!!, The staff was friendly and always willing to help. You only get this kind of experience when the owners live... More

Nirarta enjoys beautiful views of a river valley and is very peaceful. Our cottage was spacious. The lady who met us had excellent English and was very helpful. At other times the whole resort had the feel of a ghost town with nobody around and it was not possible to have a cup of coffee without leaving the resort. There... More

I stayed several times in Nirarta. Always have been a very relaxing experience since their unique location and views really touch the heart. They have simple facilities, enough to spend few days enjoying the nature and peaceful atmosphere. They have daily meditation sessions in their magical and amazing meditation rooms with views of the valley. You can also go down... More

Its supposed to be a peace retreat and it is one. Away from the hustle bustle ,this property is indeed set well at the right locale. Honestly, when we arrived late night and as we got off our car,it was an eerie feeling.Literally with very dim lights and not much light anywhere. The morning came in with a very pleasant feeling... Sadly we only had 2 nights here & 1 of them was taken up with climbing Mount Agung. The bungalow building that 4 of us had was absolutely beautiful, particularly the upper floor - the roof work alone was amazing to look at. We could see out on all sides to garden & valley of vegetation, rice, flowers, fruit &... More

This is a most beautiful place to visit and to stay. A solo swim in the river is a beautiful and humbling experience. Thanks to Peter and the staff. I'll always think about when I can come back again.

Fabulous views; delicious, healthy food; attentive, friendly staff add up to very renewing experience in the Bali mountains. You are welcomed for the before breakfast and before dinner meditations as well. My favorite book in high school was Shangri-la; I feel like I am there!

Perhaps perfect place when you are looking for yoga or walking. We had lots of rain (mostly cloudy because of the mountains). Sidemen is small town, with just a few 'Warungs' to have lunch or dinner, good however. Staff at this hotel very kind, breakfast and dinner average, nothing special. Outside bathroom and good beds.
