We booked this hotel online back in May well in advance for one night stay including breakfast and mandatory dinner plan on New years Eve 2016. It was quite expensive then but we decided to treat ourselves. 2 days ago we had an email from the hotel asking to pay extra $150 per person for mandatory dinner. Over the phone...

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is situated at the end of a long narrow winding road. Somewhere along this road you go back to a bygone age. Tea on the terrace was lovely. Try the tea without milk.. The nature walk was most enjoyable. Room, service and food all very good. A unique experience.

The road was really tiring But all will fade away once you reach this place The silence and scenes are soothing And you're really up in the clouds They have their own fresh tea The rooms are simple but comfy and cozy The staff are friendly Not much to see around But the place is heavenly

Wow! What a terrific hotel, nestled high up in the hills above Nuwara Eliya. An old tea factory so tastefully converted into a really unusual hotel - cleverly retaining many of the old tea factory's machinery. In the centre of the hotel is the original engine that used to drive the factory's machinery - this is run for a couple...

The old tea factory has been converted into this excellent hotel by retaining many original things of the tea factory. The hotel is situated right in middle of the tea gardens and one gets a magnificent view of the tea gardens from the rooms. The services provided (food /room service etc) are exceptionally good. The activities like tea plucking, walk in the tea...

Does great coffee too so don't let that put you off. Jokes aside this was a beautifully located hotel, the views of the mountain side were breathtaking. The hotel inside is very quirky and unique. You are greeted with some spice tea which is a nice touch as you wait for check in. The staff are warm and friendly, on...

The conversion of the tea factory has been skilfully done and the atmosphere created for the hotel is quite special. The staff we dealt with were all really obliging and the service was excellent. We had a front room on the second floor looking across a valley and it was great. This is a well run hotel in a special...

Location is excellent, the hotel is on the top of a tea plantation and guest can wander the tea hills and explore The property stays true to its original design and history, many aspects of the original building are preserved or re-purposed to make you feel as if you in a real tea plantation but with a comforting/luxurious twist Breakfast,...

Getting the right room is key. All rooms are of a high standard but a front corner room at high level is superb. A first floor room over the dining area and large areas of corrugated iron roof is not. Fine dining in replica dining car not value but an experience that makes the cost worthwhile. Breakfast generally average..Some items...

Stopped for two nights. What an incredible place it's like stepping back into the 1930s. The hotel is beautifully restored with many working parts from the original factory. Rooms are old fashioned but well equipped. Lovely food, service some of the best we have experienced in Sri Lanka. Great packed breakfast for Horton Plains trip. We also did the hotel...
