My Taipei colleagues recommended a side trip to Yilan for hot springs weekend and helped us pick Hotel Royal. Very nice room, very clean, great spa and fantastic hot pools. I couldn't fit in the small outdoor tubs but lots of other bigger pools so no worries. Lot's of families enjoying the resort. Busy buffet but good quality food. Nice... More

We've been there twice to spend the day, first time in the private spa, second time in the public spa. Both were very enjoyable. We went in the summer of '15 for first and '16 for second: Private Spa: Pros- private, well equipped and decorated. Cons- kids were bored after about 30 min, more expensive. Public Spa: Pros- had whole... More

This a $500/night room! Before arrival we had a hard time to get our preferred time for dinner, although we reserved out room two months earlier! The reception area and the reception was in NO WAY up to our expectations. Extremely small bathroom. The bathroom is as big the bathrooms in airplane! Small bathtub! The reason? The want guests to... This hotel is all about the spa and soaking in mineral rich water. The pool is great and offers a view of the city. Each room comes with its own soaking tub. The rooms were clean and pretty roomy. There's a sitting area with a couch and TV. This hotel offers free wifi.

We have always liked the Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi whenever we visit Yilan. Yilan is a great place for kids and the hotel is very family friendly. We love the tatami rooms that can sleep up to four people comfortably. Kids love the creative kids activities offered by the hotel, as well as the game room with pool tables, ping... More

Chiao Hsi ("Jiao Xi") is a simple yet charming town sited 1.5 hours' drive from Taoyuan airport, within the Yi Lan city. It is countryside but a safe destination in all sense. Royal is one of the higher starred and better hotel in Jiao Xi with an interesting name in chinese ("老爷” Lao Ye"). Its service is excellent and staff... More

This is an excellent hotel for a weekend getaway! Both outdoor and indoor hotspring are well-maintained and clean. The breakfast buffet has a great variety of choices, but many food items lack flavours. The other restaurant that offers set menu is much better. Hotel Royal is pretty famous for their baked goods, so don't forget to leave some space for... More
